Hey All-

Just curious on this to the other Re Charger owners if they have noticed this. When sitting in the car in the cabin when the car is running driving or sitting at idle. It’s sound like a tick noise only on the passenger side behind the dash near the firewall. It was driving me crazy as my first HC never made this noise. You can’t hear it outside and only in the quiet of the cabin. The tick noise speeds up with the throttle being pushed.

I was so annoyed that I even took the car in to Dodge and my tech and I scoped the motor for sounds. It seemed to be coming from the passenger side Fuel Rail area. (Note the same sound came from the driver rail too).

We looked it up and even found a case in the dodge system on the issue claiming the tick is normal and is the loud Fuel Injectors for the RE and is normal.

Note my car only has 75 miles lol but was curious if any new RE charger or even RE challenger owners have noticed this noise like this. Seems strange to me I’d only hear them on the passenger side on the inside of the car and not the driver if that was the case.

I’m the only RE Charger around so have nada to compare to around here.

You can call me baffled lol, granted if I push the throttle hard I barely notice but it’s still there and call me curious.

Any info guys, or am I just losing my mind?

Hey Red Cat Mike,

I have a 21 RE Challenger. I previously had a 19 ScatPack WB. Shortly after trading in the Scat Pack for the RE, I noticed a pulsing sound at idle. I took it into the Dodge dealer. They checked it out (initially thinking it was a leak in the exhaust) and found it to be something with the fuel line. They called Dodge and couldn't come up with another case. They simply "reinsulated" the fuel line and gave it back to me saying there would be no issues going forward. I can still hear the pulsing but I can live with it. I now have 5,000 miles on mine. No issues and still LOVE the car.

There's a couple of other posts about a pulsing sound coming from the fuel pumps. My RE Challenger has a pulsing sound coming from near the passenger seat floorboard to the rear. Not sure if that helps with your situation.

My ‘21 HCWB (non Redeye) Charger has the exact same noise. With the hood open and my head stuck in the engine bay I can’t hear it. Inside the cabin it’s very noticeable, especially on a totally cold start up.

It’s had this noise since the day I drove it off the dealer lot. Bone stock, no mods. Not sure what it is.

I have id1300 injectors and they’re loud as heck. It is injectors clicking for sure
I tend to agree, we were looking at the fuel rails and noticed the passenger side is longer/exposed more at the rear of the motor than the driver side. No cover or insulation of any kind. We are thinking this is why we’re hearing it in the car as it’s pretty close and open/exposed to the firewall vs the driver side.

On a hunch I got some injector concentrated cleaner/lube fluid IC5 from Sea Foam and loaded 2 bottles into the tank. Funny enough it seemed to help some oddly. I am going to continue using it to see if it helps quiet them down some.

Yep, mine too. I checked the exhaust and it was good. So I guess some REs are just more noisy than others.
