Hello i have noticed some tiking sound in my engine when opening the hood, some people say it’s normal and some of them say it’s from the lifters, i took my car to the delearship and they said it’s normal. It’s obviously hearable the lifters sound, i ask them to open the engine and check and they said it’s a lot of work and we don’t need to do it because your engine sound is normal, even the technical says it’s the supercharger sound. Sounds normal; just needs oil to circulate/warm-up.

Agree with rayzazoo. Sounds normal to me. With the engine running and the hood open you are going to hear every noise the engine emits.

All I can offer is my experience over the years with various car engines is an engine tends to get noisier as the oil accumulates miles. An oil change can have the engine noise output down by a noticeable amount.

If the oil is getting close to its change by miles when you do take the vehicle in for an oil/filter service note the noise before and after the oil change and in both cases with the oil up to temperature.

I know the 392 had issues with the lifters not rotating properly and flattening out the roller, anyone know if this was ever fixed or just figured out as an acceptable amount of failure?

They supposedly fixed it in 2018 or 19

Different lifter

For those of us with the older set up it’s just a reason to build a motor

6.2 motors used a better different lifter than 6.4 but some still had issues

Keep the oil clean n don’t let it idle for long periods

Normal injector sound. My Scat pack had its lifters replaced and it's a much different sound. The issues are with MDS lifters, not ours.
