Yeah its super tough decision. I sold my last hellcat April of 2021. I bought the Viper a few weeks later. I miss drag racing the hellcat. The viper is currently faster on the street than my last hellcat was.Very nice. That would be a tough decision for me to make.
I agree. I just miss Drag racing and my hellcat. I know I'm probably making a stupid decision value wise. you only live once right? hahaThat Viper is going to be much rarer and gain value faster than the HC's as they've been out of production since 2017 (unless you got one of the four mystery Vipers built in 2020 that appeared on the production numbers or the two in 21'). There were around 38,500 total Vipers made between 92' and 17', they made just over 3,000 in 94' and never produced that many in one year again. There are around 40K Challengers are made every year, the SXT & GT's may be mixed in but they are still Challengers. I'm guessing there are only about 25K Vipers left in the world, there's more 2015 V8 Challengers on the road than total Vipers. Well maintained low millage Viper's will continue to gain value, current MOPAR's are in a bubble so they appear to hold or gain value but that's an industry wide phenomena and not particular to Dodge. As the V8's are being killed they will maintain value much better in the future but only SS's, Demons, RE's, and JB's will be comparable for resale value from MSRP, the Scat Packs and R/T's won't fare as well.
What he said. I owned a Gen 3 Viper and got rid of it for the HC. Love the HC but it was a mistake getting rid of the Viper. Much more exclusivity, wow factor, fun to drive, better handling etc. They're two different vehicles for sure. All I know is when I go back and look at photo's of the Viper....I think "what was I thinking"? Example: We had a family reunion at my house this past summer. Two of the children at the reunion (age 5 and 13?) both wanted to see the Viper they thought I still had. I said no, but I've got a HC. Want to see it? They did and the 5 year old sat in it but I could see the real interest was in the Viper. That tells you something. Bottom line is...if you can afford both, keep the Viper. Either way, it's your money and what makes you happy. Good luck with your decision. That Viper is going to be much rarer and gain value faster than the HC's as they've been out of production since 2017 (unless you got one of the four mystery Vipers built in 2020 that appeared on the production numbers or the two in 21').
