Ok, I’m sensing a some tension in some of the threads lately, and for half of the U.S. and all of Canada it is understandable. We get a couple warm days, the snow melts, rain washes the roads, and before you can start your car, it’s frekin’ snowing again!

I’m hoping for any random posts related to your HC, past, present or future plans. I am sure the drag racers are making their plans, getting new wheels and tires, removing the floor mats and things to save weight, I hope they have something to say! Lots of guys have '22's on order and they are starting to come through, I hope they share their excitement and plans. I’ll start with a couple things.

I installed my revolver shifter in my M6 and I was only able to drive it once. (Thread started couple weeks ago.) The entire pistol grip concept felt weird but after an hour it started to grow on me. Had heavy rain last night washing the roads, and hopefully the mud in the driveway will freeze overnight, I might be able to take it out again tomorrow.

My big plan for the summer is to swap the 3.90 out and put the 3.70 back for land speed trials in Limestone, ME in July. I did 173.537 in the 1 mile last year and think the 3.70 will do a little better. I plan to create a thread in maybe May to let everyone know about it in case they would like to give it a try.

I’m gonna run all over the USA. East of the Mississippi in the Charger, and West of the Mississippi in the Challenger. I am sworn to wear them both out before the “kids” get them. East and South in the winter, and West in the summer so we can get over the Sierras. It’s gonna be a blast. We’ll stay in the best and worst of places for sure. I’m not covering them. Gonna get a good gentle hand wash detail every week or so.

I picked up my wife from the hospital last night after knee-replacement surgery, in the middle of the year's worst blizzard... in my 'cat. "Winter" is just a word to describe a few pages of the calendar, not something that should make you sad.

this land speed trail/race....did they require you to have a roll cage for your speeds? I would like to do one of these but I'm not going to spend a dime on a roll cage, fire suit or any other thing like that for a street legal car thats 100% stock

Check out the rules on the web site and look for "Supercar" class, it is designed for cars like ours to run in essentially stock condition, no roll cage, no firesuit.

Always wanted to do the loop, wife and I have talked about it for 20 years... Plan was to do it in the truck, better views, less worry about parking, more room.

Make sure you start a thread showing the route, progress, and interesting sights along the way. If you make it to the NH seacoast, I'll buy dinner!

Too many limitations in that class though:

B. Vehicle speed is strictly limited to 175 mph. Failure to comply with this limit may be grounds for immediate dismissal of the team from the event.

And must decelerate after the one mile mark.

Myself and I would assume many Hellcat owners want to try to break 200Mph on a top end test track.

Anybody know of a track that allows (and is long enough) for 200Mph runs without all of the cage and safety requirements?

I'd like to go 200..from the sound of it you get 5 runs...so 1-4 you cap it at 1 mile and 175mph...the 5th you let it rip. Sure you get kicked out, but its over anyways

Turnout was light the day I was there, I did 8 runs, could have done more.

I think the issue is if you can hit 200 in the 1.5mi you have limited room for deceleration. Under normal circumstances you do not use the full 1 mi for decel, you exit before you reach the end, missing the exit delays the event. This is a serious event and there are many serious racers there.

I have seen other supercars doing the 1.5, I think they may make exceptions based on your equipment and racing history. My guess is they don’t want yahoos spoiling a very controlled event, people die doing this.

I plan to start a thread in May, maybe April where we can air this all out. Hopefully others will provided information of other locations.

Are you really considering driving 1000mi one way to do this?

I've decided to get a Challenger GT AWD, so I can enjoy the winters in a Challenger, too.

6 banger? You can get a blower for that!
Hmm. But I think I'll pass. Although maybe not with the car.

What I need for winter use is AWD and a bit more ground clearance.

They do have one. But it's a bit higher up.

I need to check the approach angle on a GT. Getting the 'Cat up on my little 18' trailer was a bit of a chore.
But first I need to find a GT to my liking. Been looking from Idaho to Kentucky.

Ha! I've thought about doing the same thing actually.....get a GT and drive it over the winters too. Not getting rid of the RE though...no way.

But - there's a few GT's around my area and they are almost white with all the salt/brine they spread up my way. When I see one that looks like that, my OCD kicks in!

EDIT: You have a lot more ground clearance in the GT's than any Hellcat...
