Can you explain why you list tire availability when you actually cannot source the product listed? Example: I ordered Nitto NT555 G2 in size 315/40 18 from my local Discount Tire a couple months ago. At the time, they told me that it would take a few days to get them because supply was low but not to worry they would have them. A month later they then told me that they aren't available because of a manufacturer issue. Why didn't they just tell me this a month before (and before taking my deposit)? Now when I look on the website, this same tire lists as "Available now, arrives in 1-5 business days". So I again call my local store to see if they've just forgotten to tell me my tires are now available. Again, they look in the system and find that none are available. Seems like really bad business practice to represent something available that you cannot provide.

We apologize for the situation with the tire purchase and subsequent lead time with product availability.

The website inventory, for the most part, is automatically managed depending on the source of the product. There are some vendors we have a live inventory so our website would be accurate. For other products its updated manually depending on previous history. Over the last couple of months with many products coming in and out of backorder there are many wheels or tires that may show as available however, until we contact the source to get a current status, we would be unable to provide accurate stock information.

Thank you for the followup. I've generally had good experiences with Discount Tire, and I know this is mostly an issue with the manufacturer. Appreciate the insight into how inventory is shown on the website.
