When you use launch control in a redeye it sounds almost like a 2 step. I am assuming that is the torque reserve working. Issue is your not supposed to use launch control at the strip.

Does Torque reserve work foot breaking On;
The Demon,
A Super Stock.
A Redeye?
Curious for drag strip use!

I've drag raced my REWB's a good bit. What I've experienced is that the launch control only works maybe 2 out of 3 times. The other time the car just takes off when you stomp the gas. SUCKS when it does that since you just ruined the run.
Also, when it does work it isn't any quicker than foot braking. For me foot braking is much simpler and I can use my launch rpm as a tool to hone in my reaction time if needed.
For me it's one of the few "performance" things on these cars that is completely worthless.
Your results may vary from mine though... :p

Thank you.
I agree from my trips to the track with the redeye.. but never used launch control at the track just screwing around on the street..... My real question is I think the Demon Torque reserve works foot breaking the Rede eye does not... Super stock says above 900 RPMS which makes me think it works foot breaking as well. Hopefully I can figure it out on my own in a couple of weeks !

I dont think the redeye has torque reserve. The Super Stock definitely does have it. Its unrelated to the trans brake.
Redeyes definitely have torque reserve as well. This is straight from Dodge's press release:

Stellantis Media - New 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye: Possessed by the Demon

Additional features from the SRT Demon that help the Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye achieve its status as the most powerful, quickest and fastest muscle car:
  • Torque Reserve delivers up to 3.9 psi of boost at launch and up to 55 percent more engine torque

All 3 defiantly have it... It is just how is it activated? The launch control on a redeye sounds like a 2 step which if you read how torque Reserve works it makes sense.. I am hoping it works foot breaking. I have heard both ways that it does and does not work.

with my 2021 Super Stock, when I foot brake it above 900 rpms, it does that funky/cool motor noise.
So, I believe that is torque reserve working. Also, when I flat punch it...launches hard...when I foot brake it,
activating TR, it wants to burn the heck out of the tires! hope that helps.
How are you "enabling" torque reserve? Tell me your procedure for doing so.

I could be totally wrong. I dont have my Super Stock yet to compare. But the demon has that popping type cool exhaust sound under launch conditions, and my 2020 redeye does not have that cool/funky exhaust sound on launch like that. So I assumed it did not have the torque reserve on the redeyes...?

Strange.
"has that popping type cool exhaust sound under launch conditions, "

is exactly how my launch control at 1200 RPM's sounded on my redeye.
and the mixed answers is why I asked this question.

Glad to see some people that have owned all 3 answering.
I never seen a way to turn it on or off I think its just a function.

I'd expect @dragrcr to know since he's owned all 3.
In a Demon Torque Reserve only works in Launch Control and when the Trans Brake is being used. It's automatically enabled during these times.

I never tried Launch Control in my Frostbite 2020 RedEye.

I have never tried it in my Super Stock either, yet. But one of the comments above says when he power brakes it he gets Torque Reserve. Not sure if he means power brakes it, as long as LC is enabled. But that is not what I consider a power brake. You are whacking the throttle wide open. So this makes no sense.

Both the RedEye and the 2020 Super Stock do not have Torque Reserve during a normal power brake when not using launch control.

And to the OP. At first FCA tried to discourage us using Launch Control on the Drag Strip. But eventually I got them to admit that we should be able to use it on the Drag Strip. My experience is you better have the hook if you are going to try and use it. And it has the potential to be ever so slightly quicker than a foot brake.

Hey dragrcr, not to side track the OP’s thread too much, but why does the Demon have that cool/weird exhaust sound when revving up and waiting to take off? And does your Super Stock do that too? Thx

That Cool/Weird sound "IS" Torque Reserve.

I suspect my Super Stock will do it when using Launch Control based on the comments on here. But I have not tried it yet.

...OK, I may be wrong.... let me restate my Super Stock procedure....
first, my 2016 HellCat Charger.... did not make that sound no matter what.

When I SAY . . . powerbrake, or footbrake, I mean holding the brakes on, while easing down on the
gas pedal. I am in TRACK MODE, but not messing with the launch button...but I have done it with
the chiller on and off etc. I am going to the track tonight, but like stated, YOU better have your HOOK ON,
when you stall the car up on the line. I will get back to you. ---chuck from slower lower DELAWARE.
