So I did end up buying the r888 to give them a try.

They do show a lot of gap (but many of the wider tires are 30 or 35 s so won't this be a problem in general?)

I plan on lowering the car so I am not really concerned about it. Only had them on a day so I will post a few pics tonight.

Those tires only come in 315/30/20's
If that's what you got, they are way to small in overall diameter.
They are 1.2 inches smaller (shorter) than the stock tire.

Any gain you'd get in traction from the wider/stickier tire, you'll lose from effectively lowering your gear ratio, which makes you spin easier. They will look really small on the car too.
And I hope you have aftermarket wheels. As they are way too wide for 9.5 inch wheels.

I've been reading on these, and it looks like it would give the Nitto 555R's a run for their money IF it was offered in our sizes. It might even be an outright better tire than the NT555R for street use. Which is frustrating, the best tires don't come in our sizes. A tire like this would be perfect for my application, dry grip street performance and wet weather performance to handle the Florida rainy season.

I ran the Toyo R888 315/30/20 on my Shelby.

Awesome grip for a non-drag tire.

do you have any updates?

i would even imagine that the larger tire on the narrow rim will artificially increase tire height?
albeit at a detriment to the actual performance of said tire.

R888 or the newer R888R? I almost went with a 285/35 R888R but opted for the Michelin PS 4S. They make the R888 in 285/35 but they are getting harder to find since the R888R is replacing them. Curious to hear how they hook up on the street

Very popular in the Mustang community. All of the twin turbo UGR Lambos run these tires. They are excellent

I don't remember what the placard pressure is for a hellcat, 32? These have a load index of 101SL so it should be ok if you run them at 36 cold. Biggest complaint about R888 is that they are very loud, and all the little pebbles stick to the hot R-compound. Other than that, a friend of mine had already gone through 2 sets of them on his 5th gen TT Viper ACR that's now 1200+WHP. Great choice in tire

i could imagine these are 345/19s

i run the nt555r at 26 cold right now in the heat of summer. i could imagine how loud that tire is at 36Psi, but could you safely run it lower on the proper width wheel?

I ran my 315 super sports at 24 psi for about 400 miles and did not like the way the car handled at higher speeds. This was on a proper width 11" wide rear rim too. 30 psi cold cleaned it up pretty quick though and is more stable. However, the fact that the super sports are a rather square tire could be contributing to that result.
