So what’s the general opinion of the Hellcat being used heavily at the track?? Let’s say one has over 100 passes at the strip is that absolutely horrible for the car or should be something one should be worried about with a purchase of a used one??
How hard is that on the car?

Over 100 passes isn't heavily used at the track imo.
Yes it's hard on the car. Is it harder than beating on it on the street and sliding around corners and what not, Doubtful.
Maintenance is key.
I check over my car every time I go to the track. Change oils insanely early due to going to the track.

That a relief to know I believe the one I just bought had some passes on it according to the salesman saying a few things right before I left
Great maintenance record on car tho and it runs like a top I just was concerned that would be brutal on a DD
Max Gs was 1.0
And top speed was 185
When I bought it 😳
Thanks for the input Jim

I’d take one that’s well maintained and raced over one that was not well maintained and not raced. anything used you buy has a risk. I will say if you plan to race it just be ready for the potential some day of something breaking. But I just did a 9 second pass on stock driveshaft and axles. Not planning on doing that again until I get the driveshaft changed out. But it did survive. Mine is an 18 so not the 15 driveshaft.

Maintenance is key on anything, regardless of what it is. Whether it's a vehicle, a computer, an HVAC unit, etc... it's all about how well you pay attention to the maintenance. Replacing items when they wear (perhaps a little early too), staying with an established process of fluid changes, etc... all are key to extending the life of your item.

Even brand new items break without warning, so you're always going to have that possibility. Plenty of racers have put brand new everything on the car only to have it fail on their 1st pass....

Well I have the same tire in a 305 that I run only on the street. It is better than stock. But you will really have to feather the gas at the strip I’m sure. I’ve never run them. I’m also not stock. Im sure you are really going to have to take it easy still. People hate on launch control but you may want to try setting that to 1400 if you struggle with the foot brake. You really need a drag radial. If you get an 11.5 out of them be happy.

Yea I’m definitely leaning towards getting the 555r next.
I tried launch control the other night and it wouldn’t just rev. My tires wanted to spin everytime I tried it instead of hiding rpm until brake release.
Maybe I wasn’t pressing the pedal hard enough or got on throttle too slow idk? I had it set at 1500
I appreciate the advice fam!

Make sure your car is 100% straight or it will not activate. You should hear it almost like 2 step setting right at whatever you set it to. It colds for like 15 seconds. Brake hard to floor and then gas all the way to floor. Release brake. But I bet your car wasn’t straight.

The top speed may mean nothing. New cars come with crazy top speeds showing.
If it isn't cleared it stays.
G's.... Mine shows 1.24.🤫

here to put into perspective Mickey Thomson et street r on a light launch on the track.
2.3 indicates some wheel spin picked up by the sensor... unless you are HEAVILY modified. my sensor shows .5 right now....:cool:

I cut a 1.44 60ft when I did that. It was a 9 second pass
But I wouldn’t say I’m heavily modified. I’m also still only on a 2.85 pulley and a flex fuel tune. It was a softish launch.

Can you list all the fluids you change?

Since getting my car in 2020 I have heavily modified my car and as of last night have 95 passes on her. I have yearly events that I do and then regular interval. Most of them the standard service but I shortened the oil to every 3k miles. These cars love the strip and unless something is seriously dorked a 100 passes is nothing.

However if buying used get it on a lift by a third party and inspected. If already purchased, change every fluid now (diff and trans too!). I’m still finding gremlins but it’s fast car now so…some of the things I’ll just eliminate.

My engine oil gets changed every 600-1000 miles depending on track usage and street use. The diff oil gets changed every year.
Trans oil has been done once.
The car has 19000kms or about 12000 miles.
Sorry didn't do the math. LOL
