Hello all! Curious if anyone else has any experienced this: from a rolling start and about 3/4 power the car was performing as expected and then suddenly around 90ish mph (not sure what gear) the power just dipped, almost like a missed shift or something. Anyone else had this happen?

The power dropped? Momentarily and picked up, or totally and it stopped? Give us more to think about.

It just stopped accelerating momentarily, it was if I had gotten completely out of the throttle, but I hadn’t. Because it felt weird I did end up getting out of the throttle, and as the speed reduced I slowly got back in it and it seemed ok

If it's a Redeye, the car is capable of spinning the tires at 80-90 mph. I've spun my tires many times at 75 to 80 on a cool day going up a slight hill nearby my house. Under certain conditions, if the rear tires are spinning, the rev-limiter will intervene and kill power for about a half second to protect the engine from over-revving.

Or, it could have been traction control intervening to correct a spinning tire. Regardless, it feels like an abrupt jolt to the power, ie., a total loss of power for about a half second and then it upshifts and instantly recovers. Mine did it quite often at speeds less than 50-60 until I learned to roll into the throttle instead of slapping it. However, at 80 I'll typically slap the throttle and it will just accelerate, but if it's a cool day on a road with not great grip, it'll spin.

Yes that’s exactly what it felt like, just a split second of total power loss. Just a weird feeling for that brief moment

CastleCat, you can still hit the rev limiter in Auto mode. If the tires can spin in Auto mode, or any mode, then you can still hit the rev limiter. The rev limiter is designed to protect the motor from over-revving due to a driver's failure to shift or when the tires are spinning up so fast that the transmission can't upshift fast enough. The rev limiter is a good thing. Roll into the throttle, don't smack it.

Totally makes sense, but would you expect that to take place even a good 3-5 seconds after the initial acceleration began?

Same thing again today, but while rolling into it and progressively increasing the throttle, just dips for a moment around that 90ish mph mark, lift ever so lightly for a split second and then it keeps climbing after that. Thoughts as to why? BradsRedEye?

Question for you. How much gas do you have in the tank.
Were you going sudden WOT?
At below a half tank it can cause the fuel to fly back and suck some air which will feel the way you are posting.

Funny you should mention this Linda. Back in the day, the 85 or so Z28’s had a fuel problem where if you were WOT to maybe 105 they would suddenly stall for maybe 3-5 sec, then back to WOT acceleration. The fuel pump could not keep up. This sounds eerily like a possible fuel deprivation problem but I didn’t want to suggest thinking the HC would be too advanced for such a problem. Unless maybe there is a fuel pump or circuit, or sloshing prob…

It is especially likely in auto mode, as the least bit of tire slippage kills power when in default/ auto.
