If you had an opportunity to trade in your Hellcat, specially a Charger(non Wide body) for a Mustang Mach 1 would you? Can you also state a few points why or why not?

I have the opportunity to purchasing a Mach 1 but I would have to trade in the Cat, can't afford both. I'm very tempted to pull the trigger but I don't want to make a mistake where I would be kicking myself for a terrible decision.

The Mach 1 IMO is an excellent choice if tracking your car is a priority. Not the 1/4 mile track. That is why Ford built the car. It basically replaces the GT350 with a bit less hp.but offers the automatic where the GT350 did not.

Two different cars for totally different driving. If you do not spend a lot of time weekends tracking the car it would be a waste of money. The regular Mustang GT with the performance package and magna ride will feel the same around town. Plus you can always get the extra 20 hp that the Mach 1 has over the regular GT through Ford Performance for less than a grand.

Funny story. I was going to fuel up on e85 a little while back and I saw this silver coyote all tinted out. Didn’t even try me, and I don’t give coyotes the time of day. On the way back, I see the silver coyote on the side of the road with along with a VW Jetta. The mustang now had undercover lights flashing everywhere on it 🤣 so the mustang was undercover highway patrol, and the VW tried racing it. Moral of the story is, if you want junk cars trying to race you in the street all of the time? Trade it in for the mustang. If you want to maintain top dog status and assert dominance over the road where cars don’t want none, keep the Hellcat.

Go drive one and see what you think. I will say that personally I’ll never buy another modern Ford, after terrible experiences with a Focus RS and a 2019 F350 dually, both bought new. Ford’s quality, IMO, has absolutely tanked in the last decade, as has their service and standing behind their products.

2003-2004 Mach 1? Mach 1's are in the mid $20k's for unmodified low-miles. Some are less than $20k depending on miles and condition. I'd keep the Hellcat and save for the Mach 1.

EDIT: I see that there is a new version of the Mach 1 so I'm assuming that's the one being debated. Carry on!

I think that he meant a New one.

To the OP: You have to decide what's important to you and how you plan to use/drive the car. If tracking it, then skip the Mach 1 and buy a used GT350. If not tracking it and just driving/enjoying it, then I'd personally keep your Hellcat. It has more space, is more comfortable and in my opinion is just a nicer car. I have nothing against a Mustang because I think that dollar for dollar, they are one heck of a deal (especially the newer ones with the 10 speed automatic) but you already have a Hellcat.

Good Luck!

Negative ...the new mach1 in my opinion is just a sport tuned GT. Just get a gt350 or a Terminator Cobra preferably an 04 with the revised heads.
Miss my Terminator. Shouldnt of sold it

I have a 2018 Charger and I wouldn’t do it myself. I would certainly upgrade to GT500 but I wouldn’t even make the move to a GT 350 much less a Mach 1. Mind you I’m a Ford guy and own an old 93 GT.
The reason I wouldn’t do it is because if you later on decide to get back into a Hellcat you will need to pay up not pay down. I know the future fate of the Hellcats hasn’t been fully determined but look at the cost of Charger Red Eye WB vs a Mach 1 and you’ll see what I mean.
