I might have the opportunity to get a 6sp. I am not a big fan of manuals especially at the track and it's not what I want.

However I don't want to go all summer not having a car. I am a member of 2 mopar clubs and help put on LX and beyond with a club member. My thought was to get a manual and trade it in next year for an auto.

Anyone have any idea on depreciation on the 6mt? Can't find any info on them from bb or nada. How bad would I get reemed do you think?

What's a "2 molar club"? Sounds like a group of more or less toothless folks. How good of shape do the remaining 2 molars have to be in order to get membership? Are people just "chomping at the bit" in order to join? Do you have "cutting edge" discussions? If you're denied membership, do they just "brush you off" or "chew you up and spit you out"?Are entry level people known as "gummy bears"? After a period of membership do you achieve the "fang" level? Sorry, just kidding but couldn't resist this one!

All used Hellcats seem to be selling for over original MSRP right now, and may continue to do so. A big factor would be if Dodge decides to bump the MSRP by 8 or 9K for 2016 to pocket the over MSRP amount people have been willing to pay dealers on the 2015 models.

I would have suspected the 2 Molar Club to more likely have been formed in West Virginia than Ohio.

A year from now the 2015 will be almost two model years old. Without knowing future productions totals, it would be pretty difficult to come up with an accurate depreciation amount. I would think that a year from now you won't be seeing quite as inflated ADM as you see now. It will also depend on what you pay for the 2015 model. If I had to guess, I would say you would be looking something around at least a $15-$20k hit when it's all said and done.

Also, important to note that with the A8 shortage the M6's will be more common than they would have been otherwise. When it comes time to sell/trade-in, with the M6 market take rate being much smaller than the A8, you will be looking at a much smaller % of potential buyers. If you are planning to trade it in, it would almost unheard of for a dealer to pay more than invoice, minus depreciation etc., resulting in probably a $20k hit.

... it's not what I want.
Ding, ding, ding. My $0.02: If it's not what you want DON"T get it. If you're vigilant enough you can probably find a 2015 A8 in the next month or two.

Thanks RS,
I was not expecting that much of a hit. I figured 2-3k. But your right, if im buying my dream car, it should be what I want.

Of course the flipside is will I even get a car next year or will it be the same hell as this year?

Sigh, now I am back to being depressed. I was excited that i might have a car for the summer.

Excuse me while i go bang my head in the door jam.

The car will be worth what you buy it for next year, don't trade it in that's just the above comment people winning. Sell it private market. Dodge won't make enough next year or even more of the above claimed model years. They'll be supply demand issues forever on this type of car! Buy the m6 and enjoy one of the only appreciating cars on the planet while you can! No facts needed!
