What's bad about this transportation is that for my area (Louisville/Ft Knox) is that the train can sit in the main train area but you cannot get your vehicle because they Dodge/Chrysler considers Nashville the hub for the trucks. My 2012 SRT8 sat in Louisville for a week before it went on to Nashville to be offloaded. Then it was trucked back here to the dealer. Really crazy way to run a railroad (No pun intended).

Okay, I know I have said this in many threads, but here is what I was told...my car gets in the train in Chicago on the 9th, yes just 2 days away!!!! And it rides the train to Oregon, forgot to ask where in Oregon. It is expected to arrive in Oregon on the 17th and then is loaded on a truck to drive up to Washington. I am pretty much in the middle of Western Wa and my car is expected on the 20th. So, in a perfect world that is the time frame from Chicago to Portland. I am sure there are many variables. One of the guys on the forum works for railways and will hopefully see this and give a better answer.:)

There is usually a place near train yard where they unload rail cars. Depending on how far away your dealership is from unloading point. Here in k.c they unload the rail cars right in the yard then put on trucked sent all different directions. They try too ship them to a central point between a predetermined number of states. So less populated states will have farther too haul by truck whereas states like California will have several unloading points off trains then a short truck haul too deal ships. Hope this helps.

Your car should unlaod either in wabash or Seattle I'm thinking but not sure I know in Seattle its a pretty big rail yard with car unloading facility they don't unlaod cars in all yards just certain ones usually big yards with room too park all the cars till loaded on trucks. Hope this helps ya

man you have to be stoked. good for you
Thanks. I am still horribly anxious and won't believe it until I see it. I am glad I have had the chance to get all the great info from guys who have been through this. I feel more prepared to care for it properly as I break my baby in.:)

Most of the time trains will sit somewhere for a very long time they are way behind schedule pretty much eveyday. High priority trains go first then on down the line usually vehicle trains aren't very high on the priority list for some reason. I never understood why that's a lot of money sitting inside one of those vehicle railroad cars.

I think your dealer will have this info once your car is built. My dealer provided me with this same info.;)

I did not get this from my dealer. As far as I know my car is not scheduled to be built until next week!
