I looked to find if there was a suitable existing thread but could not find one. The issue is using the remote control app on a smart phone. I must admit that sometimes I just want to make sure the HC is locked. Well about 1 time out 10 it actually works if the car has been off for more than an hour. It always works in accessoriy mode. I have had several attempts by the Uconnect Assist people to help but the results are the same.
I have updated the firmware and gone through a factory reboot / reset.
I would just like to know how your experiences have gone.

I downloaded the app but never tried it so after reading your post tried app on my iPhone 6. First attempt to lock took about 1-2 minutes but did lock car. Unlocked and locked serval times with no errors after that. Each time was under 5-10 seconds.
My car has been off all night.

Also received emails confirming each request from UConnect.

Thanks, it may be the Sprint network that is used. The theory from the assist group is that the cars system enters a lower power sleep mode that only polls for communication ever so often. Once it does wake up it stays awake for awhile until there has been no communication for some time then in goes back to sleep and like a teenager hard to wake up.

I had the app for my jeep. Would send a signal to start when I walked out of my office. Very rarely was the vehicle started by the time I got to it.

Since I have an M6, I have used it a few times to lock the doors and it has worked each time after a few hours of sitting. I can't tell you if it for sure worked everytime because sometimes I am not positive if I locked it when I put it in the garage so I will it the Uconnect lock just in case.

I get a timeout message when it fails. It does seem to be related to the amount of idle time. Unlike a cellphone that much more often pings the tower I the Uconnect goes to sleep doesn't ping and does not wake up until someone wakes it up. If I go to car after I get several timeouts then I send it a lock command and touch the door handle it honks and tries to lock the door.

I've used it twice. Once just to test it out and the 2nd time when I had a friend that owns a mobile detailing company come by to clean the car. Since I work out of state during the week, I unlocked it when he got there. Took about 2 minutes. When I sent the signal to lock it back, I tried 3 times without success. Kept getting the "failed" notification. Finally called Uconnect and they were able to get it to lock. As someone else said, it's not worth the $20 a month, in my opinion.

I have set it up also. I am on Verizon wireless that has 4G in most areas. When I make a command it always has worked, does take about 60-90 seconds though. Like most here, not worth the $20 monthly charge.

Yes, I agree unless the system works better and has more functionality it is not worth even $2 a month. There is promises of greater functionality but it also needs to be much more reliable.
