Being based in the UK I cannot order a Challenger Hellcat directly from a dealer in the US or Canada.
So I have had an order in since August through a friend who lives in the US.
The dealer guarantees selling at list price. At the moment I am trying to establish how far down his Hellcat list I am. I cannot say which dealer it is for obvious reasons but you can make an educated guess.
I have the option to purchase through a UK dealer who believes that he could get me a car for August. Buying from the UK dealer has its ups and downs. It is going to cost me roughly £5000 more than if I import the car myself but I do not have the headache of transporting the car to the docks, shipping, UK light conversion, UK registration. It will have working SatNav and an after market three year warranty. Plus I could lock in the currency conversion now. Knowing my luck by the time the car arrives the £1 will be back at $1.72.
The other headache is that when I ordered the car in August £1 bought me $1.72 it now buys me $1.51. So with the £1 looking like it is continuing to slide the longer I leave it the dearer the Hellcat becomes. It starts to look like a slight dealer adjustment might just be worth looking at. Since Monday of this week the car has gone up by £2000
So guys if you could help a brother out from across the pond I am looking for a Pitch Black A8 with Black Laguna Leather. It is a tall ask but worth a shout. many thanks, Graeme

I saw someone post one of those on this forum. Hopefully they will see your request. If I run across it again, I will forward the link. I believe the title of the thread is black A8 available...or something similar.. Best of Luck!!;)

Well I think I am getting there. Many thanks for you guys on here giving me an incite to think outside the box. But I do think that some of the dealers are hard of thinking. I had an email back from one dealer I emailed on Wednesday and chased again today. I am sorry we do not have any SRT's available but we do have a Hellcat. Doh!!!!!!.
Waiting on price. Another dealer said that they would do a deal at $7500 over, but I just need to let you know my father has put 500 miles on the car. Yeah right !!!!!. Carefully run in and needs new tyres. What rubbish.
A chap who lives in the US asked me for help in securing a Hellcat. He has had an order in since August same as me. He has a $10,000 deposit on his car. Due in soon. His dealer called him and asked if he would match the $100,000 bid for his car or he would quite happily refund his deposit WTF scum bags

Welcome to the U.S. Many Dealers out here are driven by greed and have ZERO integrity. Evidently, it's hard to find a dealer that is able to honor their agreement they made with customers months ago to sell at MSRP. Wishing you good luck!

I have a Hellcat in the garage with 25 miles on it waiting for spring. If someone offered me $100k for it it would be gone in a minute and I would get back in line!

I'm a Brit living in NJ and could not see why a dealer wouldn't take your order direct from the UK. Money is money over here. It would then be up to you to arrange shipment etc (but I see no legal reason you couldn't buy one direct). Which I agree is a bit of work. The one thing I would say is that as the car isn't sold in the UK how the hell is the importer guaranteeing working Sat Nav. It will come with US/Canada maps loaded at a guess. But as the car isn't on sale in the UK then I'd be concerned as to how they are going to upload a map to it that probably doesn't exist. Whilst other dodges maybe sold in Europe the mapping system may well be different. Now that is a minor point and it shouldn't stop you getting a car, but I'd be wary of dealing with someone that guarantees something that I don't think they can guarantee.
The one thing I would say is that the info dealers have varies greatly. Nearest dealer to me has a car that's come in this week. Just one problem they cannot take ANY ORDERS under instruction from Dodge!

Hi Dickie. A Dodge dealer cannot sell outside of the US. If they get caught they will either receive a very heavy fine or loose their dealership.
The Sat Nav I will be able to figure out.
Still out there looking hard :)

Never heard that about a dealer before and I'd double check that personally. If you want I can ask the question of a dealer here, not as though it would have any comeback on you. It'd just be me asking. Sounds most odd, a sale's a sale to nearly every car dealer over here. Also if that is the case how are you going to get any warranty issues handled? Worst case the engine were to go bang and you could find yourself without a warranty and unable to get a hellcat crate engine to replace it with as they aren't selling them at the minute. It wasn't something I'd first thought of. The power train warranty is the big attraction for me. I'd looked at Maseratis over here and some models use a Ferrari based engine, but the if goes bang when out of warranty I could be looking at a Ferrari type bill...hence the attraction of the Dodge with it's warranty on such a powerful engine.
Sned me a message if you need me to do any digging around for you on anything. Happy to help a fellow Brit out.

This car is probably not homologated for sale outside the US. Think EPA, DOT, etc. even if you could find a Hellcat you may not be able to take delivery of it in the UK... You may want to do some more homework on homologating this car for your country.

BTW...heading to Leicester in a few weeks...hoping the weather cooperates :) Cheers!

US car dealers cannot sell new cars directly to an overseas buyer ....it violates Federal law.

Probably relevant to the original poster. I live in New Jersey, although from UK originally. All good points you raise though.
Also 'mvaf' highlights the federal law issue which clearly I'd be unaware of. Purely as a matter of interest how do the exporters get around this issue then? e.g. what stops an American buying a hellcat, then immediately selling it to a Brit overseas?

Selling a used or second hand car is legal. The prohibition is on new cars from US dealers directly. Only the manufacturer can export new cars...and of course they have to meet all kinds of regulations, etc. It's a big business these days for people, using straw buyers to buy new luxury cars then selling/shipping them "Used" to buyers in China at a hugh profit. The Feds are going after these businesses.

The biggest headache is finding a dealer that actually has an allocation and will sell at MSRP, much the same as you guys. Altering the lights to meet with UK requirements is no big deal.

This Hellcat business is hard work. I keep scrolling through the Dodge site. Emailing dealers or doing the instant online chat thing. Most of those online chat people are hard of thinking. I'm still finding that most dealers are asking $10 to $20K over msrp and won't do a deal or of course they are already sold.
I have one lead and I am just waiting for them to confirm 100% that they have an allocation at msrp. Last night I thought that deal was done, now waiting on a definitive answer. The pain is I cannot call them. Without a doubt they will want to call me back and then my cover is blown. I've already bought what we call a private plate for the Hellcat. My niece said the other day. Why have you bought the plate and you don't know if you are getting the car. I said don't worry about that. It's just a case of when I am going to get the car
