According to all other posts there many facts that void the powertrain warranty
I understand that doing modification like changing pulley, exhaust , etc
Also clear that unlocking the PCM or replace with another one and then putting back the original one also voids the warranty
So modification like changing pulley is not hard to the detect, it always leave mark on the screws
But how to know if the PCM was unlocked? Or even if was replace and them put the original back?
How to know if the powertrain warranty was not voided when buying a used hellcat?

If you disconnect the PCM and put another PCM in it will throw a code the code can’t be erased.
Yes. But if you have HP Tuners you can disable the code from being displayed completely. I had to do this when I took my car in, and they did not see the car was tuned/PCM unlocked.

But yes there will be a P1400 code permanently stored. Again you can disable that code and it will not appear on a DTC scan with a scan tool, but if they pull the strategy from the PCM, they can see its been altered.

This is a screen cap from my stock 21 HC tune showing the code. You would need to uncheck it, and it wont be displayed at all.

But how to know that? How to “see” this code?
And to answer this question, most dealers will plug in a scan tool into the obd2 port to scan for any DTCs (diagnostic trouble codes), while they are checking in the car for service. This is also what a tech will do to help troubleshoot issues with cars with check engine or service engine soon lights. Those stored codes will point to a module or sensor or part that could be in need of service or replacement.

So short answer, anyone with an OBD2 scan tool will be able to see the code, unless you disable that code all together. It does work. I tested it myself, and my dealer showed me a clean DTC report on my tuned HC when I took it in for axles under warranty. They never saw it was tuned.

There was a guy on another forum, he did an unlocked PCM with a tune on his pretty new Scat Pack, shortly after he had a lifter failure that wiped out the cam and engine. Swapped his original PCM back in but Dodge told the dealer to scan the PCM and when they did, don't know about the P1400, but there was an odometer disagree between the PCM and BCM and he said the dealer told him that was an automatic warranty void and they couldn't help him.

For a friend? Can't any Dodge dealer can look up the history on that car, including warranties??????????
