Usually the PCM will have tool marks on it from bending all the metal tabs to open it up. Also many put a sticker or something to show that they worked on it. I think Diablosport does this but not sure on others......
WARNING. I know one guy resently hooked up a diablosport tool to his car and it started to do an automatic update. It bricked his PCM. I would call Diablosport and ask about this or Josh. Josh at HHP was involved with solving this so maybe ask him how to avoid this problem.
Once you get past the above problem you can data log a locked PCM. I am pretty sure I have seen guys post that they have done it with diablosport.
With HP Tuners you can data log and read tunes. You just cannot WRITE a tune to a locked PCM. I am 100% sure you can reset adaptives and other stuff. Just do NOT write the PCM and you will be fine......
It might be possible to tell if it is locked by looking with HPTuners but I cannot tell you if it is. Likely it's in the INFO file but not sure........Diablosport I have no clue.
