I vote upper pulley, best value for the money..Plus you can change pulleys later ( smaller if need be, or go back to stock)

 

Agree.....just wonder if I pin the stock damper will I have a hard time getting it off in the future if I decide to go with the 10% OD damper?

 

if I do it--I would do the crank pulley and here's why--the chance of a crank issue is zero--the chance of a supercharger problem is probable--I'd go crank. other than that both will achieve the same result...

 

Upper pulley gives you more flexibility. The lower is 1 and done.

 

I plan on doing the Crank Pulley and the biggest reason is that you need to pin the crank anyway so while I am there, I will change the Crank Pulley. Then at a later date, if I choose, I can also change the upper pulley and retune.

 

I agree that pinning the crank pulley is a wise precautionary move. You could pin the OEM balancer or use ATI's stock-diameter balancer and pin kit to avoid the modifications required for the ATI OD unit.

 

Rick do you I have the part numbers for the pin kits that are out there I know ATI makes one but there's also another one that pins from the end of the crankshaft snout that I like better.

Thanks for the pulley, we set a few records last week using the combination of the two, METCO and ATI, if you are not going to max out the boost then the METCO is the one you want , it is very easy to change out and has a few optional sizes, the question being tossed around is do I pin the crank? if you pin you void the warranty.... but if you play as hard as we do then it's a must as we don't care about the warranty.

Topcat I think I am going to go the Metco route as well as pin the stock crank pulley for safety. I will have HHP provide a tune and call it quits for me. I just want it to run in the 10's even when the heat is on.

 

As long as the standard O/D ATI crank pulley fits with out modification then this is what I intend to fit. I will pin the crank and add Rick's 2.75" top pulley. I'm not going through my Supercharger pain without coming out the other side with a little enhancement. My missus did say the other night. Don't you think the Hellcat is fast enough. I just looked at her with a slightly bemused expression. Okay fair enough she said

 

Hellcat is nowhere near fast enough,,I want to come home after driving and say,,( Damn that's scary fast)...

There are a few good sources for info and parts with regards to pin kits. I would start with Josh at HHP or David at Modern Muscle. Both have forums in the vendor section.

 

Anyone running a 2.4 upper with a 10% overdrive lower ATI?
