So the car was doing a strange ticking rubbing noise all the sudden that changes with the speed. I took it to a shop and after some looking he was able to rock the drive shaft with his hand. He said the middle rubber hanger of the drive shaft is busted. Its pretty clear thats toast- unsafe and needs to be changes asap. However when i left his his shop the noise was gone, and drives normal, I only done few roll races here n there.. odd times I had wheel
hops very recently which i usually dont when i gunned it from a start .. what do I make of this?

If you KNOW the middle joint is busted, don't chance it - replace it.
So long as you're going to have it down to fix it, throw a driveshaft loop on there for future drag racing adventures,
Gotta find the upside, even in a bummer of a situation!
yes its been confirmed actually that its pooched, i already bought a new one he had and sitting here now. hopefully next week i get it done.
But What I want to understand for knowledge sake ..what does that actually mean? the noise went away after he rocked it ..and car drives great now even thu we know the hanger busted ?

It's the center bearing on the driveshaft, my '15 R/T Challenger with the two piece shaft had the same problem. Luckily I was still under warranty, this happened in 2019. Traded it in a couple of months later for a new Hellcat.

Unfortunately you need the entire driveshaft assembly, the center bearing is not replaceable on its own from what I could see. I priced the assembly at about $900, before I found it was covered under my warranty.

yes I already bought one that came off a charger/hellcat with very low milage for $400 looks damn new i will slap that on for now- lots of shortages and wait times on after market ones and prices are jacked up! Im keeping my car stock, but i will also get the diff brace as per the recommendations since im at this ..don't need drama in the differential after i get my DS in lol

If it's an original 2015 Driveshaft, they were the easiest to break.
Dodge beefed them up for the 2016 models.

The P4mance develooement Diff brace is the mod I call the Peace of mind mod.
The Differential box can break and it can take out the Driveshaft or halfshaft or both.

The Brace is good to use if you do any kind of hard launching.

Linda :)
thanks! sure looking into a brace too!
