Anyone using one in their hellcat as a backup to whatever else you might have or the factory has(lol) to tracking your hellcat if it gets stolen? iPhones are so common now that almost everyone has one, and the way airtags work is they using the nearest compatible iphone to connect to and ping out its location to your find my iphone app.

$29 for a single one, why not try it. If anything you can NAIL the SOBs who are stealing these cars and maybe get it back before its rattle-canned a different color and wrapped around a tree when they are "stuntin" it at their local hood gathering.

Personally Im going to tape one under the dash or in the trunk somewhere and hope the car never gets stolen. Worth a shot.

I think I want to look into these and maybe the tile. I have an Android phone so I'll have to see how to manage these.

Yeah, this been discussed previously as an alternate to the bad Uconnect system security. Hooking up a drop phone to the electrical (find someone who knows what they are doing) and hiding it somewhere as a simple locator device that will take the thieves time to find and disable and adds a layer of security, for about $100 why not? Unfortunately it just tells you that your cars been moved so it doesn't actually alert you when it is being stolen. Hopefully the cops won't take 12 hours to respond to your "It's parked at Chopy's Chop Shop on 1st and Main right now!" call.

Well I wouldnt call the police. Not to sound like a tough guy, but I'd grab my keys and my 9mm and go get it myself. And call the cops IF I need to. But yeah I'd survey the location first because there is nothing sweeter than dishing out punishment to thieves vs. letting the cops hook them up and they walk 8 hours later on $100 bond.

Thats what insurance is for. If they steal it, you don't want it back.
Insurance is why I dumped my Hellcat. I have low rates on all my other vehicles, even ones that are substantially more expensive with agreed value policies. This car was costing me $1400 every six months. I just couldn't justify it anymore, and every time it seemed like the rate would go up again. Way too many thefts of this car and idiots crashing them.

You need a new insurance company. My cost for full coverage is $113.00 a month and I live in a city with terrible car thefts. Just some of the perks to multi-vehicle/home and being old I guess lol

Have two airtags in each vehicle. In my Hellcat and my Ram. Find one cool but doubt youll find the other one before I find you. The only thing I didn’t like at first was the constant notifications if I left the house and it would tell me that it was left behind.

Yes!!! Tough guy alert!!! I'm sure you wont get charged at all for shooting a thief. Oh, and this might come as a shock to you but you wont be able to claim self defense. By you attempting to reclaim your stolen property, you put yourself into danger, and once you do that...bye, bye self defense....

About the only thing you said that makes any kind of sense is that if caught, the thieves will walk, not 8 hrs later, but the next morning after they are given a $2500 personal bond (meaning no money)

Interesting. Expected battery life? Is the battery user replaceable, or is it like their phones?

the thief's phone will pick up there is an airtag pinging off it though...its a feature you cannot shut off. You can thank all the stalker f#cks that use them to attempt to track their victims. You can hid it all you want....the thieves iphone will make your airtag play a sound so they can easily find it and get rid of it
