I just bought a 2022 Hellcat Charger and I’ve been looking on the forums for some exhaust suggestions as stock is not loud enough for my taste.

I settled on the Vibrant 1794s in place of the mid-mufflers as the option that was most often suggested. I had them installed last week and while the exhaust is a bit louder it’s nothing close to what I was expecting. The biggest thing I notice is that I have absolutely no decel popping which is something that many people commented that they loved most about the vibrants. Is it possible that the muffler shop installed mine differently or incorrectly? I’ve also heard that they get louder as they are broken in. Is this true for the decel popping as well?

I’m not overly obsessed with the decel popping and I could live just fine without it, it’s just that I’ve heard so many people say they have a lot of it and I have none which makes me question the install.

My main goal was to come close to the sound of my 16 Camaro SS with a Borla type S axle back but it’s not even close at this point. Was I expecting to much from the vibrants?

I have a 2020 Charger HCWB and I put the Vibrant 1794's on also and they were louder than stock and sounded really good. I too wondered about the popping. I had a 2017 HC with the mid muffler delete and it popped so much on decel it was awesome. My kid really liked it. I asked the forum why the 2020 didn't sound the same and was told Dodge changed the programming either in 2018 or 2019 that got rid of the overrun pops. I took the Vibrants off the 2020 trying to get it to pop like the 2017 before I asked the forum and it pops a little every now and then but it isn't loud. Might try race bullets because I want a deeper sound.

Hello zeke , When I ordered my 2021 challenger Hellcat WB , I watched hours and hours of videos on what exhaust would be good . I decided like you to go with mid muffler delete and put in the 1794s in their place , It sounded “ okay “ after instal and I was somewhat happy with the sound , but I too was thinking it should sound louder . After a few weeks the Hellcat got quieter , I lost the rumble when I would let off gas , which is what I really enjoyed , but it went away . I had no error codes , was gonna go to dealership that would have cost me some cash and they were probably gonna say it is what is is and I would be outta some cash . So I said to hell with it and had the Borla Atack put on and I do not regret it one bit . I have no idea what was my issue with the Vibrants or even know if there was an issue . But the long and short of it is my mid mufflers are in a box in the attic , my factory exhaust with Vibrants in place of mid mufflers is stored away in garage and the Borla Atak is what I was looking for , this was my experience , I hope this help in some way .

Maybe there are different kinds of "decel pops" but a couple of newer Mustangs I've heard running around here seem to love the really loud decel pops that sound like loud firecrackers or gun shots. It's really loud and very annoying. The Mustang drivers must love it because both of them were purposely accelerating then decelerating in gear to make it pop like crazy.

Maybe a Jake Brake will get you the desired result! :ROFLMAO:

I think I’m being misunderstood here. I don’t care either way about the decel pops but I’ve heard people say they have them and I have none so I questioned it. If everybody said the sky was red and all you saw was blue you’d ask the question too…

I appreciate the input. Makes sense why I’m not getting popping in that case

I was hoping to avoid the Borla route as they don’t seem to have axle backs only catbacks for the hellcats. Might be my best option however. Thanks

Mine is a 2017. I bought it used in 2019 with the Vibrant 1794's already on it so I don't have a before and after comparison. The remaining exhaust system is still OEM. I have not noticed mine pop but I also don't decelerate in gear (I just leave it in Drive).
