The last time I had my hellcat out 2021 charger WB. I had to get on the brakes harder then usual due to a traffic jam and noticed that I had a good amount of vibration in my ass when doing it. The car has about 6k miles on it and this is the first time I had to brake hard with the car. I honestly baby the car quiet a bit..... I haven't even launched the car yet and 98% of the miles put on the car were done in eco mode lol. Any way. Any idea what would be causing this or has anyone else ran into the issue with their new hellcat? Thanks in advance.

Just curious why you bought it? All the things you haven't done so far is exactly why I bought it lol. I was on my second set of tires at 6000 miles!

Did you apply the brakes hard enough to trigger the ABS? If the tires are over inflated or cold ABS could have been triggered.

If you use the brakes less aggressively do you still feel the vibration? If the answer is no then ABS due to the degree of braking with less than ideal traction a contributing factor would be my layman's opinion.

If you feel the vibration with less aggressive braking I'm thinking uneven pad material deposition maybe due to the brakes getting rusty from lack of use. But it could be something else. Best advice I can offer is if the vibration is present after the initial appearance probably a good idea to have the brakes checked.

Try to run it out harder a bit, really braking hard a few times and repeating it while the brakes are still hot. Might just be a bit glazed. Worth a try. Let us know what you find.

Well I have intentions on taking it to the track. I picked mine up late October and where I live winter weather isn't always the best for "spirited driving" lol. I'm sure come summer time I'll be making some passes at the loca track.

Sounds like a great plan! Thank you for not getting mad and ripping my head off.
Oh trust me I question it myself daily. Now don't get me wrong I get into it A LOT. I just haven't launched the car from a dig with launch control yet. I did follow the break in procedure as far as breaking goes. I just think they are glazed. I'll find out today when I go to the gym if I can get it cleared up.

I hope you realize these guys are teasing you (I think). Better too gentle than too harsh! Especially if you plan to keep it for 20+ years! I am extremely gentle 99% of the time! The tires limit the other 1%. :)

Mine's been vibrating at higher speeds since brand new. I drove mine back from Jake's. I was on the highway in a few minutes after leaving and instantly felt the high speed vibrations in the whole car and was instantly sad. The ZL1 I sold right before this 21 charger was butter smooth as fast as I could go in it. The charger does not inspire confidence in higher speed driving like my camaro did. I chalked it up to the shit tires, but who knows. I've had so many issues with my car, at this point I dont care anymore. Its going to be traded in soon.

You are having terrible luck with that car. Any chance you can flip it and break even or better? (Then order another? Let me guess, if you order another it will not be a Dodge.)

Oh, and it is correct you both have '21 Chargers? What were the build dates?

Of course. I have an offer for it with a dealer for another camaro. And I will be making a huge amount of money on it compared to the 4% under invoice I paid. Its a no brainer at this point to trade it in and start over. I just hope the next car wont be a covid car like this was.

The same thing happened with my 2019 Hellcat Challenger. You may have flat spots on your tires from your car setting. Also your tires may not have been properly balanced. I had mine checked out for 2 hours and they couldn't find anything wrong. Eventually the dealership gave money for 4 new tires. Your going to have to find a tire shop that has a Road Force tire balancer to check out your tires. If you do a search on this site you will find out that there's a lot of Hellcat owners with problems. Shame you spend 60 to 80 grand for a car and can't drive it at high speed because of vibration. Again, check out the high speed vibration on this site. Have fun 👊🏾

Can also vibrate due to brake pad deposits on the rotors. When you brake hard always try to release the brake before coming to a stop even if you have to go to neutral, sitting there with your foot on the brake after a hard stop can cause this vibration.

Geese, I hope it’s not as simple as flat spots. I park on foam insulation year round. Even my truck suffers from flat spots.

(Edit: Of course flat spots have nothing to do with braking, I was referring to Vet Rider and Sacredlux60.)
