ran the road course at the Ridge motorsports park in Shelton Wa today 4/22/2016
Had a great time,
Due to it being Friday and raining the track had about 10 cars in the intermediate group I ran in plus some left after noon, so later I was able to get out on the track and have it open in front of me for a few laps. Very fun track!!

it was a great day to be at the track, it was a Friday with rain and there was a regular points racing and an endurance race for Saturday Sunday the intermediate class I ran in was only ten cars or so and some didn't run every session we had 6 twenty minute sessions, so in this run I got out on the track and had a couple laps to myself almost with no traffic.

If you're not road tracking your Hellcat whats the deal??!!?? Let it run!! it is an amazing car, big and heavy but handles pretty good and predictable too.

I enjoy having other cars on the track at the same time to compare myself to, especially Mustangs and Camaros. :) Inevitably I end up with Mazda 3, Focus ST, Lotus Elise, etc. on our slow, tight road course. I am getting a different truck to be able tow my car out of town so I can open it up a little more. Until then, I fight against the compact cars.

Here I am in my Scat Pack last year. I got the Hellcat as a replacement in December and haven't been to a track day yet. First one at the same track is next week. I'll use Track Addict again and got a Go Pro as a supplemental camera but haven't decided where to mount it yet.

Thank you Sir for posting that video! Made my night, got off late after swing shift and got to come home to that video! Very cool. I like the right hand corner at the end of the long straight, you were coming in over a 100 and executed dang nice downshifts to third in the braking zone, Also at 4:56 I like how you were pushing the car right to the edge of traction in that sharp U shaped left hander and got a kick ass little power slide into it.
Well done TrackDay
Thank you again for posting that video,

I like the dash mounted camera because it shows a better definition of the road surface and the racing line looks like it is easy to review than from the passenger quarter window where I mount my GoPro, But I like that my GoPro shows my steering wheel and shifter, so I can work on those and hopefully see improvement as I go along.
I don't care for most outside the car mounts because theres no relationship to the car, just shows the camera wizzing through the air, the worst being roof mount, or low front bumper.
Whenever I watch Randy Pobst do a fast timed lap in a car I'm stoked if its shot from one angle in the car showing his skills at working the controls and his calm relaxed demeanor.

I have not seen their videos yet but a couple of guys at the track say they like to mount the camera on the side of their helmet. They say it is smooth, you can see the rear mirror and as we turn our heads it gives a good leading view of the upcoming corner.

This is also a good method of checking if you are looking ahead properly as well.

Also, I have had good luck using the suction cup mount on either the inside or outside of the front windshield and seeing the front of the car as well as the cones ahead at autocrosses. Done this on a 350z, 2008 m5, and not racing, but in a jeep on Maui for the road back from Hana if you keep following the loop.

I like the idea of checking to see if I'm looking far enough ahead or looking out the side windows around long sweepers to see the apex and exit.

I will likely mount the Go Pro on the right side of my helmet but I'd like a rear view too. Have you guys seen the 360 camera? I saw a video of one mounted to a Challenger roof about a week ago and it was phenomenal.

Thanks. Did you at least chuckle when I couldn't get it in third? Luckily all I said on video was, "Get in there!" My hands invariably hit the steering wheel button for the voice recognition too. I then have to listen to that woman say, "I didn't understand that. Please try again." for what seems like lap after lap. I wish I could turn that off.

Third gear can be a pain in my car, I've missed it a couple times, but it's 5th gear that's the problem child. Even when cruising and going for fifth, it might go into third gear instead, other times going from 4th to 5th ends up in narnia somewhere between fifth and reverse,
Hopefully this helps! Just got it last night! I'm stoked.
