My car was listed "In Transit" on the dealers web site too. I did the on line chat with someone from the dealer and asked about the car. I did not say it was my car. The couple of times I did this I never admitted it was my car. I kept asking if I could drive the car, and if I could buy it. Every time I did this they told me I could not drive it, and it was a sold car. This made me feel better!

My car is supposed to be delivered Monday or Tuesday of next week. It is listed on the dealers website as in transit. My dealer is telling me that people having been calling him offering $10,000 over what I paid (MSRP). They are also asking if they can test drive it! NOT!!!

That is not going to happen because I will have my attorney on speed dial and I will also bring my weapon of choice called the widow maker! And I am former military. Can you say "PTSD!!!"

Yeah, if it has your name on the POC and the window sticker, I don't know if they could get away with that. If they can, then that blows massive chunks. And I would be going postal too.

i think that happens with most dealers. worst case they figure people will inquire and maybe they can get an order or if someone falls through they have a list of interested people. I have no problem with that as long as they say "its sold"....

My poc had my name on it,, window sticker had my name on it,, the manger( only one I would deal with) assured me nobody would touch my car... but also told me the car is not mine until I sign for it... but again he made sure he had the keys until I came in,, the waiting truly sucks,, but delivery day all your pain goes away

For what it's worth. I just closed the deal Wed. Was in same situation and my dealer was straight up. and YES, it was a handshake/over the phone deal with an instate dealer. mailed 'em a check for $500 back 1st of Sept.. I too was wondering if there is still some honor in a mans word. was really nice to be proven that there is still indeed !

Tell the dealer to have all those people at the dealership when you take delivery and they can all waive goodbye to you when you leave
