Started on this project yesterday evening.

Have all but one bolt removed and transfered to new pump including pulling needing swap.
Tire Automotive tire Product Wheel Vehicle

Last bolt is unable to be removed due to washer not getting past lip of pulley on far right edge of the water pump.
Automotive tire Hood Tire Automotive lighting Motor vehicle

Am thinking the part is the ac compressor and am still researching. I can see two bolts on bottom and left side of it but would rather not mess with it if there is another way to get past and then replace with the new pump.

Do not want to damage either the pulley or the bolt/washer.

For those with experience doing this, what suggestions can you offer?

Cancel that, thought it was hitting the WP pulley.
That is your ps pump, just loosen the bolts on the ps pump and you should get your clearance.
You loosen those through the holes in the ps pump pulley.

Yep that did the trick....now to decide if taking the lower radiator hose off is the best choice.....the placement of that clamp is horrible when as an owner we have no clearance with everything else in the way

Hose is off....all bolts are out....thought the port (circled black metal) would have more give.....took fastening bolt off but it will not flex enough to allow the wp to come straight off or at an angle....this is damned nuts

Wow! What a hassle just to get a water pump changed.
I knew a good bit going into it and tried to use what resources I have available to plan it out....learned a few things about gotcha points ..... this would be sooooo easy with front end, bumper support and radiator out of the way

Port on previous picture with black metal inlet is a bear to set fully into the opening.....wondering how big of a freaking hammer and what tool is used.....thinking maybe a pvc collar may be useful cut out to allow for even striking as far around as possible

Your a patient man, I couldn't do it just thinking of the frustration part. Awesome job though bro, good on you for tackling a project that's not for the faint of heart..

Yes, always lube orings on pipes, injectors, etc.
Installing them dry can cause them to catch and tear the rubber. If it is not leaking, you are fine.

Do water pumps go bad easily in hellcats especially 6 years or older ??

no idea honestly, I replaced mine as a preventive item since I heard noise and found it was worse off with spindle noise and play in the pulley when it came off finally
