Started on this project yesterday evening.

Have all but one bolt removed and transfered to new pump including pulling needing swap.

Last bolt is unable to be removed due to washer not getting past lip of pulley on far right edge of the water pump.

Am thinking the part is the ac compressor and am still researching. I can see two bolts on bottom and left side of it but would rather not mess with it if there is another way to get past and then replace with the new pump.

Do not want to damage either the pulley or the bolt/washer.

For those with experience doing this, what suggestions can you offer?

That water pumps looks to be about 30 bucks, right?
hell I wish it was that low......best I found was from www.eastcoastmoparts.com for like $424 plus shipping.....got a new belt just for good measure too....thanks

Will loosen the ps pump and see if I can gain some clearance.

Yep that did the trick....now to decide if taking the lower radiator hose off is the best choice.....the placement of that clamp is horrible when as an owner we have no clearance with everything else in the way
Hose is off....all bolts are out....thought the port (circled black metal) would have more give.....took fastening bolt off but it will not flex enough to allow the wp to come straight off or at an angle....this is damned nuts

Got it off but without either lifting the sc or removing the ps pump I am not yet seeing a way....the exodus continues
Finally

Wow! What a hassle just to get a water pump changed.
I knew a good bit going into it and tried to use what resources I have available to plan it out....learned a few things about gotcha points ..... this would be sooooo easy with front end, bumper support and radiator out of the way

Port on previous picture with black metal inlet is a bear to set fully into the opening.....wondering how big of a freaking hammer and what tool is used.....thinking maybe a pvc collar may be useful cut out to allow for even striking as far around as possible

Seated and not leaking so I will consider it a win

no idea honestly, I replaced mine as a preventive item since I heard noise and found it was worse off with spindle noise and play in the pulley when it came off finally
