Looking at the newer HC’s the wheel wells are all made for the snap on WB flares so basically it looks like the fenders could be pulled off to make it a NB, and any NB can add the fenders, is this correct or is there another difference?
(Sorry if my terminology is off, still learning the technical lingo)

Mounting holes, the fenders and quarter panels have mounting slots in them. If you removed the flares there would be holes to fix. And of course wheels are different, and suspension.

Not even as easy as that.
This pic is a demon, but bodies on the challenger widebodies are the same, gives you an idea.
The flares have an inner integrated metal frame that protrudes thru the fender opening, for lack of a better description.
Front splitter would also need to be swapped for the applicable unit.
