Should I go straight to a REDEYE or start with a SCATPACK?

Hello everyone I have a question that some of you hopefully all of you will give an opinion on. I want to go straight to hellcat redeye and I do not feel like waiting and getting a scatpack then HC and so on. My question is what would you do go straight to the top or start lower?

When I was looking for a car, I was trying to choose between the Scat Pack widebody Charger or the hellcat. I ended up with scatpack because i got a great price on it, and there was one locally that had everything I wanted. There were no hellcats, except from one dealer who wanted well over MSRP. I have since decided to sell the scatpack and order the Redeye. The scatpack is a lot of fun to drive and slightly better gas mileage. However, I would keep except I kept thinking about the hellcat. Combine that with the crazy trade-ins for the scatpack, and I decided to order a Redeye Charger. If I wasn’t convinced that in a few years the hellcats likely won’t exist as we know them, I might have kept the scatpack and waited a bit.

So my advice is, if you know you want the Redeye and can swing it, get what you want. If you can’t swing the Redeye, then the scatpack isn’t exactly a slouch.

Isn't this like asking if you should wipe your ass or not???

Sorry, get the RedEye if you have the means..
Lol yea I guess I was in my head because I’m young and everyone is telling me to start with a scatpack but I think I’m quite responsible and have a clean driving record I’d figure I would ask you guys tho.

Depends if youre the idiot who floors your car everywhere or not and you have tons of money to burn. Those two are a bad combo. Any Hellcat will bite you in the ass hard if you have no respect for it. With that being said it can happen with a SP too. I think as long as youre not that guy you’d be ok.

I went to a local dealer in February 2019 to order a 1320 scat pack. I had my disabled wife in a wheelchair. She is a stroke victim. I had already made the deal with a salesman a few days before. I came back with the wife and they were busy but ignored us as they thought they thought they had a sure sale they were busy. After 25 minutes I put her back in the car in the snow. Went home on car gurus and bought a octane 2018 hellcat With 2500 miles and had it shipped to Chicago suburbs from Florida. They did me a favor by making us wait and I bought the hellcat. I Bought it for 53,000 With 2500 miles and just sold it last month for 61,000 with only 4500 miles. I sold it to the same dealer as they gave me 2000 more than car max. I just had a 2020 octane Redeye shipped from Houston Texas . It has 1100 miles. It has everything but a sunroof.Paid 69500 ..of course plus taxes. To sum it up, get the Redeye with out a doubt. I don’t drive it much. As I’m a care giver. But have a beer with it in the garage. Good luck

Not what one of us would do it is what you would do.

You have already said you want to go straight to a Hellcat RE. So go already.

I test drove a 2019 Challenger Scat Pack widebody and fell in love with the car. B5 blue, only 6100 miles on it. A Nissan dealership had just taken it in trade and I was the first prospective buyer to test drive it. I was upgrading from a 2013 R/T and there was nothing to not love about this car. I told the sales manager I was very interested, but I was going to look at a 2015 Challenger Hellcat the next day and make my decision. The sales manager tried hard to make a sale on the spot and finally told me that if I test drove the Hellcat I was never going to come back for the Scat Pack.

He was right ;)

Same here, I went to a local dealer to buy a new Challenger SRT with no intention of looking at a Hellcat, then drove both and went home with a Challenger Hellcat.

There's nothing wrong with a scat pack, currently have one. Always had a voice in the back of my head that always said to get the hellcat. Ordered one and am waiting. I think for most, the scat pack is fine. But if there's any thought of a hellcat, and you have the means, skip the midstep. You never know how long the supercharged 6.2's are going to be made.

Take it from a former multiple scat pack owner. You will always want the HC. And no its not cost effective to upgrade a SCAT to a HC level of power and still retain some sort of warranty. Its funny because hemi 5.7 guys always lust after the 392. And SCAT guys always lust after the HC. And the HC guys just enjoy their power and when they get bored they spend a few grand and get a pulley/tune and are happy again. Trust me get the RE if you are able.

Me personally im in a position where I can get a WB HC but the RE would put me over the budget.

The 392 is more than enough to have fun with. I had a 2015 SRT and could drive it like I stole it and always felt in control. I would never do the same in my HC. However the sound of the supercharger is intoxicating. Good luck

No doubt I'm in the minority but I started with a Scat Pack. 2 months later traded it in for a Hellcat. Drove the Hellcat 27.4K miles and for 33 months. Then decided I no longer wanted to own the Hellcat facing the car being out of its bumper to bumper warranty and traded it for a 2020 Scat Pack.

My 1st Scat Pack came with NAV and the A8. The Hellcat had NAV and the A8 plus the supercharger, inter cooler cooling system. Last July the NAV system went wonky and under warranty the uConnect radio was replaced.

My 2nd Scat Pack has no NAV and has a 6-speed manual. It is a much more enjoyable car to drive than my Hellcat. Yeah, the Hellcat has more power but of no real use on the street and I didn't track the car.

The Scat Pack is lighter and the weight "feels" lower down and with the high performance tires is much more fun on roads that the Hellcat would have ended up in the ditch had I tackled the roads with any enthusiasm.
