I am curious after many searches here, are there any differences in an 18' Challenger Hellcat vs a 17' or 16'? Hopefully I will finally have one after this weekend. thanks

On the titles, one says 2018 and another says 2017 and finally one says 2016......

Front and rear emblems and wheels vary slightly from year to year. Also different sensors on the air intake 2016 vs 2017-2018.

2016 SRT badges on grill and the rear spoiler.

2017 SRT badge on the grill and SRT badge with the cats head on the rear spoiler. First year of 5 spoke wheels

2018 SRT badges with the cats head on the front and rear.

I think there are also changes from year to year on the software/format for the display on the dash.

I’m sure there are other differences but these are what stood out to me when I was looking for mine.

The 2017's have an updated navigation which seems more crisp compared to the 16's.
18 widebody has electronic power steering

17+ different badge, HD upgraded radio screen, lit up steering wheel.

The light in the steering wheel behind SRT is red in 17+ but white, I believe in 15 and 16. The hydraulic power steering ends in 17. Rhe warranties also varied.

I thought the hydraulic didnt go away on the narrow bodies. Can any owners confirm? Electric steering for wide bodies for sure though.
Also the 2016 satin black wheels are the slingshot design while the 17/18’s are the 5 spoke design.

Also the 18's come with more color options for brake calipers.

Wasn't the driveshaft improved as well?

Correct, hydraulic steering remained on narrow body through 2018.

For 2019, all Hellcat Challengers will have electric steering, the 2019 Charger is the only Hellcat still with hydraulic steering.

No lit SRT in steering wheel in 15/16, just a chrome emblem
15 has 5/100 powertrain warranty. 16+ is 5yr/60
15/16 intake sensor is MAF, 17+ is Speed density
Driveshaft upgraded in 16 I think
other small stuff as has been said already

There's 1 year difference between each of them.

I thought my 2015 HellCat was an excellent quality unit. I had literally zero issues in 50,000 miles. It was an M6 and I didn't drive it like a baby carriage either..
Without listing part numbers, I can say that each year, the cars have gotten better in overall quality and driveability. My 2019 Redeye is superior in any category keeping mind that my 2015 was "excellent". While the cars remain remarkably close in looks, the power, the ride, minor physical details and technology has gotten better.
This isn't unusual for a platform to keep improving with age. Parts and vendor updates are made throughout any build cycle by all manufacturers.
If anyone can find a "good deal" on any of the build years, I would say go for it regardless of improvements by date.

for me, trading for the used 18 was a better deal than a new 16 from my local dealer.
