I'm retired navy and I currently work in Saudi Arabia with an American defense contractor. The Saudi's bought a bunch of H-60's for their navy and we provide on-site support during their stand-up. I just took over as site lead, so that's cool, but also means that I get to stay in kingdom for another year, and my brand new Redeye gets to stay locked up in the garage for the most part.

we are deployed right now but shortly after we come back we are moving to va
Nice looking cat.

Have a safe rest of your deployment. Sorry to hear about the relocation to Norfolk. I'm sure that you've already heard, but that place kind of sucks.. Well, not kind of... it sucks. Crappy roads, crappy weather, horrible traffic, cops that love nothing more than to hammer down on car guys and a pretty high cost of living. Depending on where you live, crime can be moderate to pretty bad with stuff like petty theft and vehicle break-ins being the worst.
Quick recommendation; get on the housing list and try to get a place at either Fort Story or Sandpiper Crescent. Both places have newer houses and have garages to keep your kitty nice and safe.

Thanks for your service! Spent two deployments (‘90-94) on the Ranger (VF-1) & Kitty Hawk (G-5). I hear Shellback initiation isn’t what it used to be…. 🤢

Too funny. My first squadron was VF-1 and then did my 1st deployment aboard the shitty kitty with VS-37 after VF-1 decommed. I checked into VF-1 while they were on their last cruise and was on beach det until they returned. Was supposed to meet the ship in bahrain but that got held up and we stayed at Miramar.

Prior life I was a USAF Orbital Analyst. Now, I'm primarily a technical writer by trade, that has somehow found his way into law enforcement administration as a communications specialist/consultant with FDLE (FL Dept of Law Enforcemnt) Headquarters. Most of what I do involves legislative and project management focused documentation for ongoing law enforcement focused technology modernization projects.

I love that color on the charger. Yea I keep hearing the crime is crazy there I plan on leaving somewhere near the outer parts of the city to try and get away from it and find a gated community if I can with a garage.
