Anyone do anything inventive? I switched mine on my new HCRE, and have the OEM ones just sitting in the garage.
Thoughts? Pics? I'm ready to get crafty!

Several years ago when I still owned my R/T Challenger, a toddler walking through a shopping-center parking lot with his mother stopped a few feet from me, asking me if my car was a Hellcat. I replied no, sorry, and the kid's face just fell. I quickly added that while my car wasn't a Hellcat, it wanted to be one when it grew up. The kid beamed a wide grin in response. I sometimes imagine how cool it would be if I ever ran into the same kid again, I could point at my Hellcat and say, "See?"Put it in your glove box and at the next car show you go to give it to a kid that is super excited to see your car. It will make their day and hook them for life
I never thought of stuff like this until one day my son was going crazy about how cool a jeep was at a restaurant we were at. We happened to be leaving when they were getting in their Jeep and I told him to go let them know (older couple) he loved their Jeep. He's 5 and a bit shy so was a good opportunity for him He did and the gentleman in the driver seat greatly appreciated it and handed him a matchbox Jeep. Just one of those $2 ones you see at walmarts, for instance. He apparently buys them when he sees them and hands them out to people that he meets. I'm telling you, it's a small toy but my son cherishes that thing as it reminds him of the Jeep that he loved. He slept with that thing on his pillow for a week.
I now buy every challenger matchbox I see and do the same. Just something that stuck with me that I figured I'd share.
Only to the guy who owned the other PorscheReminds me of a guy I knew in High School, was given new Porsche 944, pretty much the best car of any high school kid there and he had to go and steal the S off another Porsche and glued it on so people would think he had a 944S as if it made any difference.
Now that would be a fun thing to see.Several years ago when I still owned my R/T Challenger, a toddler walking through a shopping-center parking lot with his mother stopped a few feet from me, asking me if my car was a Hellcat. That would be very odd for a toddler to ask. I can't imagine any 3 year old knowing what a Hellcat is.Several years ago when I still owned my R/T Challenger, a toddler walking through a shopping-center parking lot with his mother stopped a few feet from me, asking me if my car was a Hellcat. It's funny what kids pick up. At this age (below) my son could barely talk but every time he was in the garage he would bounce up and down and repeat. Daddad Biper (because he couldn't say Viper yet). He wouldn't stop until I put him in the car for a "drive" which consisted of starting the car, letting it idle for a min or two, backing it out of the driveway and back into the garage. Not long after this every "fast" looking car was a Biper when we were driving down the road and he would point and repeat it from his car seat. Even Miata's were Biper's for a while. LOLThat would be very odd for a toddler to ask. I can't imagine any 3 year old knowing what a Hellcat is.![]()
So true man! Very well put, amazing how the time flies. My boys are 20 and 18, don't know how it went by so fast! It's funny what kids pick up. Picture of some of the best memories a father can have. For those without kids yet (that want some) I wish you days like that. Cherish them as they pass fast. Just writing this puts a smile on my face again after a long, frustrating day at work.

My kid knew what an IROC-Z was when he was 2. He’s 32 now, and owns a mint one along with he and his wife‘s Scat Pack, and a slew of other cars and trucks and Jeeps. That would be very odd for a toddler to ask. I can't imagine any 3 year old knowing what a Hellcat is.![]()

My perception of a toddler is probably more wide ranging. The kid might have been five, he seemed too well articulated to be only three. I dunno, just thought it was cool for a small kid to be so into cars. That would be very odd for a toddler to ask. I can't imagine any 3 year old knowing what a Hellcat is.![]()
Ok, that makes more sense I suppose. I was thinking, most 3 year olds are into Peppa Pig and Mickey Mouse. My perception of a toddler is probably more wide ranging.
