I was going to start at 20 psi maybe higher on the rear and looking for input on the front. I have the stock wheels and tires. It will be western NY so still chilly. Also do you guys leave it in track mode?

18-22 on the rear, start at 22 work your way down. Run fronts at max for least rolling resistance.

You will want to watch for stability at the big end of the drag. Once you get too low on tire pressure, the car will become "floaty". I've run my street drag radials (MT SS, Nitto drag radials) at 18-22 psi.

I would maybe run 25 psi down the track the first run just to be sure the car is stable and feels solid. Safety first. Just roll into the throttle and make a clean run. Don't worry about cutting a good light or any of that. Just get your basic routine down. If you aren't consistent with that stuff then it's like shooting pool with a rope when it comes to tire pressure.

Lol

Couldn’t agree more

Then again first time I threw my leg over a 8.90 bike I put it in the chip (8250) and threw the clutch lever and damn near killed myself

17 psi is too low unless you have a huge tire pinched on a narrow rim like the set up @Unholy707 just installed

Wheel Tire Car Vehicle Window

Oops clicked wrong pic @Unholy707

3580 Mickey 10.5 x 29 on 10.5 wheel w 6.8” back space

My 10.5 wheel is okay for 3580 but the tire is really more like 10.75 tread width and would work better on a 11

Found those wheels for $125 ea tho and the back space was perfect so it’s what I went with

Waste of a reply. The whole world knows you're going to blow the tires off on your first pass either way, ha ha. Just joking around.

But yes, like German said, could just as well go 22 or so. You are going to be traction challenged either way. Just stick with it and get used to the car. I guarantee that your times will improve over the course of the day and as you learn the car.

On a side note, here's a pic of my car with 17x10 beadlocks on the rear. I think they look just fine.

Best time is in my sig., 1/8 mile, 6.80 at 104, around 4300 DA, 93 octane fuel. But that's with the mods. My best time stock except for driveshaft and axles on MT SS tire was 7.42, 91 octane fuel, 5000 DA or so. I think it is going to be tough with street tires. My dad's SRT 392 with street tires ran a best of 8.98 in the 1/8 at my track, probably around 5000 DA. This was a street legal night and he had the stock tires that came on the car and were maybe a year old. I've never seen any hellcat, GT, or camaro hook up worth a darn on street tires at my track. Even hellcats on the black key spin a lot.

I launch at maybe 1200 or so.

I haven't run a street tire at the drag strip since the late 80's, lol

The ONLY time I got squirrelly was with a 20" rim and RRRIIs at 20 psi. Since then I ran 17x10 MT Street Rs at 17 psi no wiggle. Then switched to Bias Plys at 16.5 no wiggle.
