Ya... ur right... that's definitely a nice chunk of change to spend on a radar detector.... idk I'm a sucker for the latest and greatest/best technology I guess..... I think the uniden r7 is in first place for me... but u definitely have me second guessing myself...
Some things are worth spending the money for. IMO A radar detector is one of them.

This is probably almost as good ..................
Uniden DFR7 Super Long Range Radar Detector with GPS | BuyDig.com

($129 with coupon code VORTEX1)

Also, DFR9's are under $230 right now on Amazon.
Just ordered a DFR7 for the 4Runner, the VORTEX1 code didn't work on BuyDig, but the price was pretty decent on Amazon.

Just retried it & it worked for me ??

9500 ix up here in Canada
9500ix is over a decade old detector with very slow processor, poor off axis M4 Escort antenna detection and mediocre range. It lacks

I bought a Escort ix...happy with it so far.
iX is a pure scam from Escort. It lacks digital update able IVT filter (has analog) and Escort stated a year ago it can not be updated even though in its marketing Escort stated iX will have updateable IVT filtering. Its a repackaged 9500ix haha

I personally drive with :
1. Valentine V1 3.8952 latest firmware paired with JBV1, custom sweeps 34.7 & 35.5, laser off, TMF2 on, Ka-guard off, mounted bellow rearview mirror.
2. Escort Redline International, Seg. Band 5,6,8, K off, laser off, RDR off, MRCD on, mounted up high passenger side.
3. Antilaser Priority, 3 front + 3 rear sensors, latest firmware 5.5.6, Hi-Fi module.
4. Uniden Scanner
5. Waze App for speed trap alerts.
6. JBV1 app for speed patroled by aircraft alerts.

If set up properly via app, V1 is a monster and would not switch it for anything.
Usually cruising 35mph over the limit, successfully evaded hundreds and hundreds of traps.

So weird. When I put that in the "promo code" field and hit apply, the page refreshed but price stayed the same. Oh well.

Awesome that you need 5 grand worth of crap to evade radar. I haven’t had a ticket in 25 yrs....i have an old Belltronic “whothehellknows” model in my truck....paid for itself 500 times by now. I’m sure those of us with “scam haha technology” will do just fine in most areas.
Edit: I see that ALL 18 posts since you joined the forum is regarding radar....how do you like the Hellcat?

I don't think their promo codes work unless you have entered your name & addy etc. or signed in.
I've used Escort/Passport forever but now I have a Redenso Pro M. This detector is tiny compared to others and filters out false alarms better than any I've used. American company with great customer service.
Radenso Pro M

I also have a Radenso Pro and it has worked well for me. Couple questions...

Do y’all filter some of the K bands to limit alerts? And if so what ones do you use?

I like waze but is there a way to use it with Uconnect for 15/16 cats?

Do you need to have destination selected for navigation or will it still give alerts for road your on?

Great thread btw

I go with the factory recommended settings which have both K and KA set to narrow and KA 34.3 turned off. (They're already loaded into the detector). The Auto City speed is also set at the factory. Thats set up works great because I haven't got any false alerts from door openers and such. I also turned off X band completely because they don't use it on the west coast. This is definitely the quietest detector I have ever owned. Well worth the $$.

I haven't used Waze in a long time so I'm not sure about that.

Did you get the visor mount? I use that 90% of the time. Once again well worth $25 to not have to stick it on that big ass Hellcat windshield.

I will have to check the settings on mine. It’s definitely quiet but I get k band alerts and rarely see a cop so wondering if they are false alerts.

I have the blend mount with the mirror tap and love it.

Ok just remember to hit and hold the center button to lock out those false alerts

No ticket in 25 years with whothehellknows Bel model? hahahaha
Your statement only proves you drive the speed limit with your Challenger. No wonder you dont get any tickets hahahha. From Calgary to Edmonton or Calgary to Vancouver or anywhere you live to the next city I would smoke you doing constantly 180-220 caz of all bells and whistles I run in my 300hp only 200S. Yes maybe you have 717hp under the hood but you r topping out at PSL while I keep going caz I hear no alerts from my detectors, no alert from laser jammers, nothing from Waze and JBV1 and nothing on scanner regading black 200S. With so many laser speed traps or instant on K and Ka radars you would go down in an instant going 150 and above bud.
Keep doing what you have been doing and I ll see you in the right lane soon.

No Hellcat yet, just joined here to give you some useful info caz there are dozens of Hellcat owners who dont know how to use jammers/shifters and its bad for the community so I wanted to pitch in.

Well, can't fault you for the info....not sure what "caz" is though. I would suggest that driving at double the speed of regular traffic would fall into the "dangerous" category. Sure, you can handle the speed, but what about everyone else? Likely a matter of time before an accident occurs...won't be your fault, but you'll be blamed.

Ur my hero...... ur like "Night Rider" I don't know what half of this sh*t is but... it sounds F-ing cool
Been a good thread. I've updated the aged Passport 8500 that I had in the Camaro and Hellcat to Uniden R3 units. Installed the one in the Hellcat yesterday, forgot what a PITA that rear view mirror is. 100 degrees in the shop, didn't flip on the AC as I thought it'd be a 15 min job. An hour later I was having heat stroke but it's done.

Got one of the DRF7 or whatever for the 4Runner, should be delivered today to replace a 20 year old Cobra that likely doesn't even work anymore LOL.

Speedy I been researching the mirror-tap/radar installation threads and seen more than one person saying to just grab the mirror assembly plastic and all and manhandle it counter clockwise and the whole assembly pops right off. Does that sound right?
You don't even have to man handle it in my car. If I lean forward and my head bumps the mirror it comes off LOL. The hard part is getting it back up there. You have to remove the plastic, then put the mirror up on a bolt glued to the windshield, and rotate the mirror to lock it in place. THEN put the plastic back on. Once you figure out the sequence it's not bad.
