I use it to hold my LED junction box. I wanted to install everything temporarily, so no hardwiring. I ran the main power from the aux power socket on the passenger side, passed the wire behind the console over to the driver side. All my interior LED cables feed to there. It does a good enough job of holding it all.

I honestly think it's a cell phone holder. The Chargers have a little storage slot in front of the shifter, under the A/C controls which is where I throw my phone when I have it plugged in. In rentals I've had with a similar pocket on the center console foot well, that is where I put my phone when it's plugged in as well.
