What's everyone's Instagram and Youtube?

Despite having been in IT for almost 30 years I don't have an Instagram account, a Twitter account or a FaceBook account. I do have a couple vids on YouTube but nothing I have not posted before. I was on Facebook for about 6 months. Then the election stuff started making me mad and I found I had to get off for my own sanity (That didn't work)

I've always been weary of Social Networks. I can tell from experience that I did not hire one person due to their Facebook posts. HR departments look at Social feeds as part of the hiring process in many large companies. I never want something silly like a Social Media post to keep me from getting a job.

Agree , I have no social media accounts, too many trolls to make it enjoyable. Police get into it easily as do employers, so don't take pictures on your sick days .

For the last ten years I've been advising my clients who are employers (especially major employers) not do to stupid things like FIRING SOMEONE BY TEXT MESSAGE. Sending stalking type messages from managers and senior leadership. Sending harassing or racist/sexist/whateverist commentary by text. Making statements like "I hate that SOB, if I could fire him I'd do it in a second. He makes my life living hell." When I train leader I always told them do not, ever, text or email anything you do not want to be blown up and displayed on a 20' screen in a court room and have opposing counsel grill you on it.

THese things are just tools, but people for years have started treating them as utilities and in same sense as a utility, that it is something that is almost an entitlement.

But I digress.
