Wheel and Tire Noob Question

Okay go ahead and get the smart ass comments on record. I’m a big boy and I can handle it. 🤣🤣🤣
I am new here. I own a 2022 TRX currently. After lots of thought and careful consideration I placed an order for a 2022 Super Stock today. The reason I went with the Super Stock is likely not what you think. I will do very little actually track racing. I’m getting the car to have a fun weekend cruiser and maybe go to a few Mopar events… test and tunes ect… but overall the car will be a street car.

Here is the issue. In ordering the new 2022 Redeye Wide Body I was told by the dealer that you can no longer get the 3:09 rear gearing or the Laguna leather package. The only way to get these options is to order a Jailbreak at full price and no guarantee that I will actually get it due to the low allocation.

My only option was to get the 2022 Super Stock or do without the gearing package and add myself and settle for the Alcantra interior. Not my choice. Hence ordering the Super Stock.

My question is this. Have any of you guys run the factory Red Eye wheels and tires on the car for daily driving and kept the drag radials specifically for track days? If you have how do like this option. I plan to see if this will work in my case and was simply wondering if anyone else has done the same and can share experience.

Super Stock

It's kind of a strange way to put the question, the SS comes with the 315 Drag Radials w/o option for All Season like the other trims. I am assuming you meant buy another set of tires for the street and keep the Drag radials for weekend tracking?

Yes. I previously owned a modded 850HP Corvette with drag radials. I never drove it in winter or rain due to feeling like I was on ice skates due to the drag radials. I intend to drive this car more often than just weekends and I was wondering if anyone ordered a set of stock 20's for normal day to day and kept the drag radials just for track use.
SUPER STOCK (not super sport lol)
You said youre a big boy so…
😂
LMAO.... auto correct must have got me while typing. Dually noted and corrected... 😉😁😁

I was thinking of ordering the 20x11 Warp Speed Low-Gloss Granite wheels and a good set on non drag radial performance tires as my standard set up. Keeping the drag radials for track and event days only.

I don't have a Super Stock but will say that yes, some have done that. Also the same with Demon. In fact, FCA even offered a factory 20" tire and wheel package already balanced and mounted so Demon owners could drive on the street and save their drag radials. Don't know if that option still exists as I haven't seen anything on it in a while.

Thank you. That is the answer I was looking for I guess. FCA currently does not offer a 20" option for the Super Stock.
There have been a few sets of those wheels floating around here for sale btw.
I will look and see if any are available close to me. Thank you.

If you just want cheap street wheels and 275’s (it won’t hook on the street no matter what street tire you run anyways) these are on clearance 129 each at race star

I would something better than the Pirelli's something maybe just one step down from a drag radial. I guess I will have to do a little research.
That's the answer I was looking for. I thought the scenario would work. I don't plan to do any public street racing with the car. So considering that I figured a small loss of traction would be fine when just enjoying driving normally and not at the drag strip. I get that this car is primarily for drag racing however with the limited options on gearing and upholstery for the 2022 model year the Super Stock is the only choice for me. Jailbreak models are very limited production and most dealers are not currently offering any deals on them. There also is no assurance being a late order that I will even get one. So I think I will be very happy with the Super Stock.
TBH I'd rather have a SS anyway, even for street use. It just has more Demon DNA than a pretty JB. There will be fewer built by far and will be sought after years from now. You're being forced into a better choice imo.
I have come to that conclusion also. I think I'm going to like it much better.

Hi Nashvillan, I live just down the road slightly south of Murfreesboro.
I own a '21 SS and have done exactly what you're thinking about. I have a nice
set of 20x11's w/ Continentals all the way around for normal driving.
Since the stock size tire is hard to come by these days though I put the originals
in storage and use a 17" drag radial setup for track time.
Based on my experience between the Redeye and the SS I think you'll be quite
happy with the SS.
Thank you. I really appreciate the info. Maybe we will run into each other at Cars and Coffee.
