A few months ago I purchased a low mileage cat and after 2 months of ownership I gave it a bath like I have done before. After a foam shower I worked my way down using the pressure washer cleaning off the suds when I had an explosion happen in my hands. The nozzle shot off the end of the pressure washer and hit the fender. The quick disconnect ball bearings followed. I had already cleaned off the top of the car and the passenger side before this happen so user error wasn’t an excuse. After I figured out what happen I went into rage and for a split second I thought I was Bo Jackson. Snapped the pressure washer over my leg. The two weeks of a black and blue mark on the top of my thigh reminded me I was not. I found the pressure washer tip across the street on the neighbors driveway. After finishing a wash on the car it was still dripping water while I pulled into the local body shop. All in all the car is now safe at home away from the pressure washer. Stay safe out there while you wash your cars. I’ll post a before and after photo below. New American brothers badges got installed since the factory driver side was removed.

Using a pressure washer on a Hellcat or any beautiful car is like using armorall at a auto body shop. Maybe not a good idea..
Pressure washers are industry standard for most detail shops.

You do know you can regulate pressure and auto pressure washers are not clean paint off concrete power, right?

Pressure washers are required for proper foam canon use too. This is either a cheap harbor freight quick connection (doubt op did that) or just one in a million dumb luck.

Ummmm...?
The farther you stand away or the higher degree tip, the less direct pressure on the paint....
I absolutely L O V E my soap cannon and have always used a pressure washer.
Rookie rule #1
Always shoot the gun a couple cycles away from the car before you begin.

I use a Simpson MSH3125 pressure washer. Never had an issue with it until the tip blew off. I’ve had it for 3 years and have used it many times to clean all my vehicles. I use the factory hose and factory gun with the 40° tip on it. I also have a pressure regulator on the gun that I can adjust while I using it. The problem was that the ball bearing failed in the quick connect tip. I already cleaned off the top of the car and the passenger side so the tip was securely locked in. Simpson only has a 90 day warranty on their accessories so I was SOL. I’ve herd of people not connecting them correctly and flying out so I agree with always pulling the trigger pointed in a safe direction a few times to make sure the little bad boy is in there nice and deep like.

I bought another pressure washer gun and have cleaned the car a few times with it since the incident. I love using it with the Adams foam cannon. One of the best ways to clean a car IMO.
