I know that the book, and many people on this site use the proper Mopar oil filter, but I've only done one oil change so far in my 2020 H C with about 13k miles, and I used the mobile one oil filter. I just couldn't see installing a $4 oil filter on a car like this. Plus if you go online and do some digging, the Mobil one is obviously Better Built. Comments and opinions welcome. Thanks!

Ever watch Engine Masters? Oddly enough, they just tested oil filters a few weeks ago. They didn't specifically test any Mopar ones, since they used an LS engine. They concluded that the K&N HP series lost the least pressure, had a quality-built inside, and the lowest micron rating of 10. I will be using the HP-2010, $14, on my next change.

I must have missed that episode. That's good info to know. I have also used the K & N along with the Mobil 1 in my vehicles in the past. Thanks for the heads up, I think I'll switch to KNN.

I found the filter, but no details/reviews that say it's made by Wix.
Definitely made by WIX and made somewhere in Europe. Designed for Viper and has no aftermarket equivalent.

There used to be a great article on this filter on the SRT site but they revamped it a few years back and it's gone.

Here's a video Luke at Steve White did..

I either use the NAPA Platinum filter (which is probably Wix) , an actual Wix or the white SRT one. They might all be made by Wix...not sure.

Love that video, years ago my local auto parts store did the same thing with every brand filter they sold. It was an eye opener. It changed the way I look at them now & which ones I buy.
