Hellcat is my daily driver so just hoping to get a few more HP and smooth out the factory stuff that may not be ideal. Not trying to squeeze every ounce out and hurt reliability.
No plans for pulley or anything. I installed a Bwoody intake, valves open 24/7 & Vibrant resonators in place of mid-mufflers. That's it.

I'd also like the trans tuned. At the very least, hopefully, the typical rough down shifting we experience can be smoothed out. I drive around in Sport mode for trans unless it is raining or snowing.

I went with the Stage 1 e mail tune with HHP , Josh , the Tuner said after tune I was utilizing 80 percent , of possible potential , I am quite happy with results . I’m not heading to the track or trying to do doughnuts at local parking lot , just wanted to unlock some available unused HP

What HP gain with that tune? Did you also tune the trans?
Did it change street driving dynamics of the car? if so, how?

Yes , they did the trans also . Shifts smoother in my opinion , Power gain is noticeable , I have the JTL CAI , supercharger louder , I’m sure your Bwoody will sound even louder , I had the Borla Atack installed at same time as remote tune . I am very happy with results . I know everyone has different opinions and goals when tuning , but you sound like you are looking for kinda what I was wanting to do . Josh tuned the engine to 885 and I still on 93 octane. I’ve had caring results on WHP on two different dynos , the last one said 649 at wheels I think

He needs to be clear that he wants a mellow tune. Imagine..

No mods, yeah I'll tune it. Surprise! You're in the 8's if you have the driving skills! :)
Yep , I went with a “ conservative “ tune , I have no interest in seeing how far or how hard I can push my Cat . No big interest in how fast I can drive my Cat in 1320 ‘ , or lay in bed at night wondering about a tenth or two ,. But that’s just me . I have no problem or worries for those that do wanna chase that . I just wanna enjoy my Cat for what it is .

Ha! Right, he is getting that reputation. Seriously, he did great for me and others I know, he is very good, and very responsive to questions etc. He does a conservative job and I am obviously very happy with my car now. The best and most noticable difference was the first version/tune I got, which did not even add any power!

Trans and optimizing a few things Is what you really noticed. There are many ways to skin a cat. @DGatzby was tuned different than a drag car. i usually ask what people want especially at part throttle. Some people love the aggressive feel some people like a stock or stockish feel until they really hit the skinny pedal.

How safe is tuning one of these, relatively speaking? I’ve heard your warranty is basically void as soon as you swap PCMs but I’m starting to think the direct connection stage kits are a pipe dream and considering just tuning it.

He did your car? Nuff said... Good as gold.

Remember I was MIA for a long while. I'm catching up. :)

Op, there are quite a few top tuners out there like HHP, Barth, Dusterhoff, Satera, etc. However I did hear Jonx96 is very good and he is a member on this forum who has tuned others on here as well. You see his 8 sec time slip on here so he definitely knows what he's doing. So consider reaching out to him.

I also definitely hear ya about the transmissions rough downshifting/bucking that I tend to get often when the car downshifts from 2nd to 1st and it can be very annoying even though I only have the car in just regular street mode for daily drives.

I actually wonder how much gains we can expect from just a PCM/TCM tune only? I'm the type of guy that it takes a lot to be impressed so I feel like just a tune only wouldn't be enough to satisfy my desire for more power and void the little left factory powertrain warranty I still have....unless a combination of changing the pulley and upgrading the injectors with the tune will really wake up the car.....

I would seriously consider Jonx96.
He has done an awesome job of fixing a very scary tune on a friend of mine's car.
My friend went from disappointed (almost hated) with his car and tuner, to loving his car and once again having goals at the track.
He has nothing but good things to say about Jonx96. I am impressed with the difference in the car . The comunication with him while we were at the track and the results from that was impressive.
If it sounds like I'm praising him, he deserves it from my experience and he isn't even tuning my car.

I'm well out of warranty so that is not a factor for me. ;)
Better driving dynamics & a few HP? That's a win. I'm not chasing time slips

Who was your friend's bad tuner, though?

As of now, I am leaning HHP. They are not far from me & we all know they know what they are doing

There are gains with tune only. Especially in the trans. You will feel the difference from just a tune only. Also, there are things that can be done to make it "feel" more aggressive or sportier especially at part throttle. I get this request sometimes. Tune only but when you touch the gas they want it aggressive. This is a personal choice. No gains at wot. It all depends on what you want out of the car.
Like Jim said for the people chasing slips a lot of times I will make track adjustments for them. After a few passes with his friend and cleaning up the issues from before he has a whole new beast. The tune he is at now is actually safer than before. I brought rpms down 250 to 300 rpms from where he was at before. Just like adding timing. Adding to much can slow you down. It is all about being efficient
