Mostly I want the newer members to be aware that scammers do make it in here, they get booted pretty quickly though. It's just fun to call them out, guy joined and started to scan the want to buy thread for marks.

One guy was lazy enough to use the same email that he used to scam others on different sites, used a picture another member had posted the year before, and just happened to have every part every member was looking for "at a reasonable price".

It’s a shame. No communication venue is immune to scammers. I get more phone calls and texts now from scammers than just about anyone else. A LOT of people just steal for a living, obviously. I can’t even comprehend a mindset like that. But, seems there are a lot of things I can’t comprehend in today’s world.

Heh, I have an AOL mail account I've had since I was in middle school. I hand that one out to places like department stores or restaurants and their loyalty programs. That email gets about 15,000 spam mails per year. I never check it.
