Hello,

Can anyone tell me what wider tires are best to use on the stock rims for the rear tires, what size/brands will fit?

My rear rims have to be replaced might as well get something that will stick to the pavement.

Thanks,

Charlie

There are several threads on here about this subject. Just search for it. It's still kind of an evolving subject.

I have seen MT ET 305/35/20 and Nitto's. Nitto's only advertise good up to 149mph. What are the MT rated for? Will they fit without any modification? Also on MT's website the say the 305's should really mount to a 10" rim.

Depending on the MT, the Street Comps in 275/40/20 and 305/35/20 are Y rated (186mph).

Does MT make our tires in stock sizes?

Can't imagine running on a tire only good for 149mph.

186mph is more like as I will easily have mine over the 149mph and already have on several occasions.

Here is a list of others as well.

Thanks for the advise. Wonder if the MT will come out with the ET's in our stock size?

I like the Nitto's had them on one of my old Mustang's. But never ran it over 150mph.

This cat is capable of way higher speeds and I need a tire that can stick while also taking the load under higher speeds.

Anyone have any suggestions on what I should go with? Can be wider than factory, just has to be able to fit without rubbing?
