Hey all,
Whats the widest rim I can use without issues, trying to see if I can run a 305 tire on a 17 or 18 inch rim. Are there any additional modifications needed to run a rim that small? Thanks 😊

I use 305 45 18's ET MT rs for Dragracing and many use 305 45 17

Mickey Thompson Drag Radials are on back order.

But the size you want will fit nicely
I also have the shortened end links.https://highhorseperformance.com/hhp-shortened-rear-sway-bar-end-links-for-17-to-18-drag-wheels-with-factory-sway-bars/
some will say you don't need them, but you will need these shortened factory sway bar end links to prevent the swaybar from hitting the rim once the suspension is loaded.
I've had Welds and now HHP Ultralites by Bogart When my Husband and I were out T&T R+D back in 2015 it was found they are needed.
Linda :)

Have you gotten an 18ā€ wheel yet? I’m looking for one as well as I admire the look of more sidewall and it looks better on these cars in the rear. But not sure which wheel to go with to match my black 5 spoke wheels?

The s71 welds fit in 18 with a specific offset for our cars. No endlinks etc needed. I habe not bought them yet, because when I do, it will be with some MT Street R which are backorder at the moment. Im not looking to pay 2300 to get a product in 6 months lol. The s71 are what I will be going with, but I know that there are also racestar and forgestar rims that some cats run around here with no suspension modification

I have a narrow body and run Nitto 555R that is 305/45/18. I do have shortened end links bc the rim would rub on sway bar when jacked up.
My .02 cents, look for the tire you want to run and then the rim. I run my Bravado’s daily and this tire hooks & is great even in the south Florida rain. I like my sidewall to look meaty and and all the 17’s I saw were to short plus it kinda looks like my fronts 🤣.... I like to believe.

Damn that looks really good, that is the look that I’m looking to have on the back of my car. I was originally going to go with the 555r in a 305/45/18 but seeing that the 555r2 having a higher speed rating I’d probably go with those in a 305/45/18. The only thing is after the 555r2 I’d like to try an MT et s/s and a Toyo r888r in 305’s as well so I’m not sure if those other two tires will look ok on an 18 as the Nittos seem to have the taller sidewall. Have you had the 555r on a 20ā€ rim and then on an 18 and noticed a significant difference in traction?

@ Red-key, I did not unfortunately. I smoked my factory summer P-Zero’s in less than 8k miles. No burnouts but just some lively driving. They’d spin at 80 MPH, no BS.
I then got the replica version of my wheel in 20 x 11ā€ and put on another P-Zero but 305 that run on Ferrari as had a 12ā€ contact patch. Lasted 10k miles. Hooked a pinch better. So since so pricy I went MT street comps cheap and if they lasted longer I’d be happy. Literally less than half the price. And they actually did pretty well, after 10k miles there was still meat on the bone but I could not hook under 60 MPH. So I went 18’s and Nitto 555R, amazing tire. Hooks amazingly well. Great in the rain.
And I don’t know why I was so against going Nitto but I’m happy all the reviews I read where right. Plus I use to run the BF Goodyear drag radials on a Gen II viper back in the day. Scary on a wet pavement!! These really do well in rain.
Best of luck with your search!

I did on my first tune. I've known Ed (DSM_Lights) for about 20 years now. He's a good guy, dedicated, and a Vet. Very smart, especially when it comes to chevy platforms. I got my second tune done at NüR Performance in Fort Myers and Drew MURDERED it. He said that he could've yanked another 80rwhp just off a retune. They are Hellcat specialists, and wish I found them sooner. I'm currently sitting 1048 hp

Glad to hear you had some good experience with the Tune in Fort Myers. Is that the only place you recommend for getting tune only work done on our Hellcats? There is a shop near me called Hades performance and tuning and quite a few folks rave about them. The owner Nick is a pretty cool guy and I’d look forward in working with him on my car.

Oh, I remember lol, and I see you went with the orange calipers too, [emoji91] [emoji435] [emoji1968]
The orange was a must! I was on the fence about orange calipers when I ordered my car last September but I decided to stick with red since it was the safe bet. And when the whole theft fiasco happened I said it’s a sign that I need to get orange ones now! [emoji91][emoji41]
