Just bought a 256 GB SD card, loaded it with ~60GB of tunes from my iTunes library, and when I select SD Card on the Media menu, it keeps saying please insert card, despite numerous attemps at inserting/ reinserting card.
The card, (and it's contents) are fully recognized on my other 2 computers.

Regards,

Pat

Oh too big. I have read 32 gig max. FYI I did get a new GC to read a 64 gig card but it did not like it. My Cat loves the 32 gig card and the music sounds much, much better than XM.

No help here, I use a thumb drive 16GB....but I do convert the music to mp3 format (in iTunes)...sort of use to it since I work/play on both platforms....
All else fails, the "mp3 player" to radio via bluetooth works great...just don't give it to your teenage daughters in the car...LOL

I am using a 128 GB SD card. Try formatting in NTFS and then loading the files (mp3 or wma). Put it into the slot and give it a few minutes. Mine takes the longest to load when it is inserted, if I leave it in it seems to load a little faster.

I am aware of it being illegal, and thats only while in motion. Doesn't mean i haven't had it in my previous 3 Dodge's though. Just didn't know if the unit itself was capable of reading/playing videos.

I haven't researched this, but I am pretty sure that TV/video in the front cab of a vehicle is against state law (probably in every state). So, I doubt any car manufacturer would provide that capability on the front console.
Going over the speed limit is against the law as well but our Hellcats certainly have that capability in spades. That said I doubt there's a way out of the box but I'm sure someone will figure it out soon. I believe there are already a couple of hardware solutions and a software solution as well (Lockpick or something like that).

Anyone have luck with a card that's exFAT formatted? It'd be helpful if moving forward people would post their configurations.

Here's the config for the card I have that doesn't work...

Size: 64GB
Format type: exFAT
Audio file type: mp3
Current space used: 24GB

Reformat in NTFS.

So far, I have it consistently working in both the HC and our jeep with a 32GB card FAT formatted. Tried 64GB both FAT and NTFS and sometimes it read sometimes it didn't. Times it did it was slow. Performance was much better moving between songs and playlists on the 32GB and lower with FAT.

Also, and maybe you know this, by found the Shuffle option will shuffle all songs in the Folder mode but will shuffle only songs the in Playlist. So I created playlists in iTunes that were pointed to the songs on the SD Card, exports the playlists to the Card and things work great. Better than using my iPhone/iPod.

Hope it helps someone.

Just thought I'd add my $0.02 here as I have done a number of searches about this issue. It seems like a few people have had luck with 64 GB cards (formatted NTFS) but most of the time, they aren't recognized. I am using a SanDisk 32 GB Class 4 card (formatted FAT 32) with no issues in my Hellcat (as well as a 2014 Grand Cherokee Overland and a 2014 RAM Laramie) without any issues. I am able to play .wma, .mp3, and .M4a (Apple) files without any problems. I have read that the faster (Class 10) cards can be problematic. I have read many posts that .M4a files won't work, but I have proved to myself that this is erroneous information. Hopefully this simplifies this for someone else.

It does read larger cards if it is formatted in NTFS and allowed a few minutes when it is first inserted to allow it to be read and a directory created (will display device not connected for a few minutes then the directory will begin to populate). Depending on how many songs/files, it may take up to 15-20 minutes for it to completely populate (first time inserted only unless you reflash the card). It only takes a few seconds to load on subsequent startups. Someone please independently corroborate this, as it is working flawlessly for me using a 128 GB SD card.
