I'm not all about the Demon hype, but just saw this Demon for sale in person at Rochester Hills CDJR (Michigan).
I thought the fact that WHO ordered it was kind of special, & it's #0004.
It was his personal car.

The sales guy didn't know if it had the crate or not though, and I didn't get the mileage either.
He didn't have a number/price either for it.

Looks like he originally traded it in almost 2 years ago:

According to the article, it had just over 1K miles and they wanted roughly $140K. Curious as to what those figures are now

to me, who owned it doesnt mean shit. #0004 makes it a little more desireable maybe down the road how the hell do they expect to sell it if they cant give you any details, have no idea where the crate is and dont have a price.

Well, maybe I would care if the previous owner was Leah Pritchett or Richard Petty. I can't think of anyone else owning it that would cause me to think I would pay an additional amount of money to purchase it.

As the Demon has gone the way of the Dodo I don't think it matters much who owned it or what the production number is (if it isn't the first or the last it doesn't matter). If a well know celebrity owned it then that would add value regardless. From strictly the model and trim package it's a premium for a pretty basic Demon, Seems to have been built for the track and not a daily with no passenger or back seat so I'm not sure what you mean by it's his personal car.

I'd look at Demon's like Cuda's; the less mileage, more OE parts, condition is excellent, then I expect the car to only increase in value. I don't think anyone is going to sell theirs for less than sticker unless it's in poor condition or they need to sell it. Most Demon owners probably won't fall in the 'need to sell it' category. Put it on blocks and in 40 years it's a million dollar car, even with light driving and well maintained I expect it to go up in value over the next 10 years as almost all production cars are going electric. The Demon is a collector's car from the start and when the stopped production it only added value.

I disagree that in 40 yrs an original no or low mileage Demon is a million dollar car. There are over 3000 of them. Million dollar cars need to be much rarer than that. EV prevalence or not I dont think it’ll hit a million. They havent increased so far but I do think as the numbers dwindle a bit they’ll go up but not to that level.

I guess I thought it was interesting because he was probably the driving force behind all the Hellcat products and probably the Demon too

I wasn't there for the Demon, I just happened to see it there. The sales man didn't care, even though he had a Hellcat himself.
He said Ralph buys his cars from them (since it's close to Auburn Hills), and he sold it to them/traded it in.
He was guessing around the $150k range though

Inflation, In 1960 minimum wage $1 hr,1985 minimum wage $3.85 hr, 2009 min wage $7.25, at this rate minimum wage will be over $30 an hour by 2060 and a new $50k car will be an economy car. Although these cars will probably be better maintained than the muscle cars of the 70's were there may be more available in better condition. I don't remember how many 71' Hemi Cuda's were made but there were not that many. Still think in 40 years a million wouldn't be surprising.

These cars are different. People bought them to show, a few drag them, and not daily drive. Those 71 hemi cudas hauled kids to school, went to church, drove in the snow with studded snow tires, etc. Those cars hit rock bottom during the gas crisis and could be found for $500 in nice shape. Being driveable now and not crushed is a miracle and why they are valuable and what makes them special.
In 40 years cars may be gone, who knows.
In 10 years every electric car will smoke a demon likely......
I just have my doubts on values that high for these throw away style cars.
I know a guy that daily drives a red demon in the Pittsburgh area. Some people look at him and think he is dumb. I say screw it, drive it and enjoy.
If you own a demon, and it has 2,000 miles on it, you honestly missed out on the enjoyment of that car for the sake of your kids selling it for more money when you die. Good work, not that you will benefit from it. Hopefully they decide to keep it and do rolling burnouts up and down the street in your honor lol.
I honestly have regrets not ordering a demon or two to just beat the crap out of for the next 20 years (could have wrapped one in sublime lol), not to peak under the cover occasionally and tell everyone that I just own one.

A new $50k car is pretty much an econobox now so that will not take till 2060 at all IMO.

COL is nuts. Wages, for most normal people, are well below. Why do people think so many stay in relationships? To be able to pay the rent. Around here, PA, it's nuts. No wonder no one has any savings

Then factor in the Super Stock, and Redeye too I believe, gets a lot of the Demon stuff = you are right
