Yesterday at the Dealership

After reading the oil change discussions on here Saturday night, I went to the dealership (that has Sunday service hours) to get my oil changed at 2,000 miles. They let me go into the service area while they did the change. Oil looked pretty good on its way out.

While at the dealership, they had a green manufacturer tagged Challenger Hellcat, 6M, that I believe was a press car. The car had 3,000 miles on it, front fascia pretty much destroyed and the clutch was gone.

This is what the back tires looked like. They looked far worse in person.

wow, that car has been worked hard. Any photos of the front fascia?

No, I didn't take a picture of the fascia but the bottom of it was all ground down.
Shiiiiit my tires look worse than that :) :) :)
Think of it this way April...it was sacrificed to make sure your car will hold up for you.

What a sacrifice. Sad to see
Press cars get the schlitz run out of them. No manufacturer on the service end likes giving cars to them, sales loves it though
Smoked a clutch in 3K miles. That is sad. The press doesn't know how to drive.. Where is Tammie she will give them some lessons!

Right? I have almost 3k on my Hellkitty and he is running like a beast!! You know they just tear the shizzy out of those cars. Worse than they do a rental! I guess I can understand why they might destroy the press release cars, they would give the Hellcat a bad reputation if a sucker bought one. o_O

Back when I was a yoot I fed my need for automotive information from the trade rags (Autoweek, Car and Driver, Motor Trend etc.) - there was no blogs, youtube or interweb for the masses. The majority of these automotive journalists were car people and they had a clue.

Now any yahoo with a GoPro and a blog is a "self proclaimed" automotive journalist. I watched a few Hellcat videos where I was thinking... Seriously? They had no clue, much of the info. was wrong and they had no idea how to drive. I could have done a better job.

A manual transmission with a powerful engine is actually EASIER to drive. There is just NO reason to smoke a clutch in 3K. The more I think about it the more angry it makes me. You can beat the heck out of that car without destroying the clutch.... Ugh! No Hellcat for these clowns!

Yeah, I think it sucks that just because they can kinda write. They are given carte blanche to destroy one of the most amazing machines created!!! Buttheads! And then have the nerve to say it was hard to shift because the clutch was stiff. Obviously, they couldn't drive the dammmmm thing to begin with!
