I’m a new Charger HC owner. Live in DFW area of Tx. I’ve been running 93 from Chevron. Any advice on best gas to run and from where?

QT is top tier gas so it's great. I run that or Shell 93 octane in my build with no problems.

Top tier website will give you all the best gas brands. Some are surprising and some big ones cheap out. I find in my area top tier brands carry about a 10 cent premium over cheapo brands.
Interesting. Any brands that you know of that are NOT Top Tier? That would be very helpful, especially on long trips.

You can put cheapo brands in ,the only difference is the additives from major brands are needed to keep injectors clean. I use 711 unbranded premium in my HC ,never a problem runs great. I just make sure to fill it with Mobil premium once a month to keep it in check. I haul gas down here for a living and I know who fills the 711 I go to,and he tells me the tanks are free of water and always at a good level :)

I use QT here a lot as well because they cycle their fuel in and out pretty quickly and maintain their tanks very well. I also really like their Tea. If you're ever stopping for fuel at an unknown or older gas station, do not fuel up if the tanker truck is there. I learned this on my diesel trucks. It stirs up a lot of debris when they fill the tanks and not all stations maintain their filters as well as they should.

Chevron is a good brand of gasoline. Buy from a busy station to ensure you get the freshest gasoline.

My (Porsche) tech buddies tell me they believe Shell V-Power provides more power, this via a butt dyno, than Chevron but all agreed with me when I reported how much better my N/A Boxster engine ran after a tank of Chevron Supreme after being fed a steady diet of Shell V-Power. The cleaning action of Techron is amazing. They said that while they run Shell V-Power most of the time occasionally they'll run a tank of Chevron for the benefit Techron provides.

My 996 Turbo could have cared less. It ran good on Shell V-Power and while it didn't run any better on Chevron it didn't run any worse. The cleaning action of Techron didn't make any difference. I suspect the Turbo engine is just a naturally cleaner running engine.

For both my HC and my Mini JCW (with a turbo-charger) mostly I run Shell V-Power. (My decision to run Shell is helped by the fact there is a Shell station in town that sells its gasoline at a slightly lower price than other stations around.) It is subtle but both engines seem to prefer Shell V-Power over Chevron Supreme. However, towards the time an oil change is coming due I switch over to Chevron the last tank of gas before time to change the oil. I just switched the JCW to Chevron as the car is just a couple of hundred miles away from its 5K mile oil/filter service.

I avoid supermarket/discount gasoline because these resellers live on the thinnest of margins so they buy the least expensive gasoline they can find. While the gasoline (probably) meets requirements its quality may be towards the lower end of the spectrum. Thus for consistency's sake I stick with buying gasoline from name brand stations. If one is observant he can find stations that sell gasoline at a lower price than others of the same or comparable brands. I have about 4 or 5 stations between my house and my work place -- a distance of about 30 miles -- that sell gasoline at very competitive prices and I use these when it is not convenient for me to make my way downtown and fill up at the Shell station I mentioned above.

A major brand not top tier is Speedway and neither was Hess until they went Belly Up. Sunoco surprisingly was not Top Tier until recently when something changed? Not sure what but pretty weird when they brag about their racing affiliations. I guess all is well now. I noticed Irving just appeared on the Top Tier list. That is good for me as new Irving Stations are popping up all over the place near me. One Top Tier fuel company I would never patronize is Citgo. Owned by the repressive government of Venezuela. They are starving their people down there. I know local dealers can get hurt if you boycott but they made the decision to get in bed with them. Having grown up in Boston the giant Neon Citgo sign visible from Fenway Park is pretty famous. Put up long ago when it was an American company I believe. People wear those Citgo hats and T Shirts around here and I would like to say get a clue man. There are groups that try to save that sign when talk comes of taking it down. If given the chance I would take a sledgehammer to it. Rock on!

Another weird tidbit having to do with Exxon and Mobil both top Tier Gas. I did an Environmental remediation job at the local Exxon Mobil terminal in Boston. I asked a couple of engineers if the two were the same or which was better? They laughed and said they were the same. Just food for thought.
