Simply put - There is a sensor on the fuel rail that will determine the octane level and the timing / tune will adjust accordingly. The car will generally be expecting 91, 93 or e85…but will accept things between from what it sounds like.

Other tuners, like Satera in IL (also on this board as a sponsor), use a similar product.

 

Is the demon 170 flex fuel operation identical to Satera modifying a 2016 challenger hellcat with a aftermarket 3.0 whipple @ 21 psi running flex fuel ?

Is this vehicle bleeding off boost in white mode or is it at 21 psi of boost still?

 

This. How are they running 21psi on pump gas.

 

And I see where the 170 will come only with two Red keys and you will not be able to select the horsepower, it will be adjusted automatically depending on the fuel used.
