I also think that dealers will be surprised when orders cars don't sell because guys like me who ordered a Demon but got screwed want it build the way we want. I want rear seat delete no carpet no stereo and so on. I will not pay more for a car that is not optioned the way I want.
Wow, any Demon is better than no Demon, not getting the Demon performance in 2019 or 2020 (2020 is my speculation). FCA is never doing a crate again (IMO), get one, the train is already down the track

I would never pay that amount of money for anything! that I didn't like the looks of. If it was not optioned to my taste or the color of my choice. Not paying that price for the sake of saying I have a Demon. For the same money I could buy a classic Cuda in a classic color combo. I will add that Drag racing is not my hobby.

The Demon is the first in soo many categories, cannot compare it to any 60's or 70's mopar. When the SE Hellcat pricing is announced the Demon will look like a bargain, it will be the same or more money for less performance (this is speculation on my part). There are always reasons not to pull the trigger, the option list on a Demon is a joke, what are there 6 or 7 options?

I just went to a dealership to look at a Demon today, I was told it was available at MSRP, I could care less the options or the color (well a single seat my cause me to pause), I was going to put a deposit on it, why? It is a Demon, that's why

Ah but equally optioned SE’S and Demons will not make the Demon a bargain to me. People seem to forget a stripped down Demon costs more than a loaded up SE. Pricing has yet to be announced obviously but i highly doubt it will be $86k for a stripped down SE.
Option a Demon to the max and see where you land, and thats with no adm. Add in the ridiculous fees and for me it is no longer a bargain. Then again im not the typical Demon buyer. Im not willing to pay roughly 100k with no adm for the options that will be on a Hellcat for 20k-ish less. (Minus some drag stuff that i wont use) 40/50hp and Demon name be damned lol. Im not the guy who pays that much more to be a part of Demon history.

That's what marketing is all about. Dodge did a good job making people want one. It is a great car for what it is intended to be. That is a Drag car, most of the special equipment that it has over the Hellcat. is not or should not be used on public roads. I think for that reason it will suffer in value long term. My opinion of course. And we both know what that is worth lol know one really knows. I don't agree on that the pricing coming forth on the SE will be anywhere close to as shocking as the Demon. because we had dealers involved in trying to make a killing at the consumers expense with this 3300 units allocations should have never been done. Which 3300 is actually not a very limited number. We will see. If Dodge runs the price to high on the 2019's they will find themselves having trouble selling them.

What an awesome debate to be having. Who would've thought about 5 yrs ago even...

Agreed. I always love the comments saying “hey it’s a Demon, i dont care if it’s pink with no windows, go ahead and refuse it, i’ll take it”. Go for it. You buy the blue one with red interior. Not me lol. If i cant stand looking at it then i dont care what it is. The name is just not more important than me getting it the way i need it to be. I can imagine my wife when i came home with it asking, “wth is that?”
Me: whaddya mean its a Demon! It’s illegal!
Her: ok whatever.
And thats what makes the world go round. thank the baby jesus we all have very different tastes and "demands" ....your ugly and "no way jose" is someone else's gorgeous and "must have"...

So u just bought an MSRP demon on the showroom floor on 26 march ??

UNICORN!

Nope, the salesperson confirmed on the phone that the Demon was available at MSRP, so I took the 45 minute drive. The Demon was there but had a deposit on it, so they took my contact information down. I was hoping to score it for Phasthemi who wants one at MSRP. This happens to me, I confirm the vehicle to available to purchase to find out later, after I am there that it is not.

Really annoying but I think some dealerships say anything to draw you in hoping to sell you something else, just the way it is.

The Demon is so much more than drag car. Hard to describe and probably hard to understand if you have never driven one. Have not and will not ever take mine to the track. My 15 year old daughter said it best, “this car ruins it for every other car.” (our other cars are a Maserati, BMWs and a Hellcat, so that is her frame of reference). So powerful, yet so comfortable and easily manageable. I love the Hellcat, but the two are not even comparable. Can’t wait to see what Dodge does next. If the goal is to out do the Demon, whatever they come out with will be simply amazing.

The demon was a bargain when I heard pricing for WB hellcat, to me anyway.

I have a hellcat that goes 8's, I am not tracking my Demon, I appreciate how stupid quick it is for a factory car. Some say the next halo car will be quicker, I disagree, time will tell, this is the high water mark on muscle cars, IMO. Maybe the next platform will be quicker, who knows. For these reasons, the color or options are meaningless to me, if Phasthemi did not want it, I would of bought it.

It is interesting, on the Forum there is resistance from some to the Demon. I would expect is it elsewhere, but here?

Wait for the pricing on the 2019's, it will become apparent of the bargain the Demon was. Again, my crystal ball could be broken, I could be completely wrong, we will know soon enough.

There will always be resistance from some towards something they don't have. We also tend to embellish things we have that others don't. We have Cats on this forum that have more HP than the Demon. so Cat or Demon on the road cant be a drastic difference. The car is basically the same other than the engine.I to believe this HP war is coming to a close. there is only so much horsepower, that can be used safely on public streets, The insurance company's ended it once before. In this case it will also price itself out of the hands of those that admire it. There are only so many car collectors. the rest of the potential buyer's are enthusiasts with limited funds. Most cant throw down a 100K for a toy to drive for kicks. I for one. I would like to, but My money came hard. and limited. We will see. If it ends tomorrow it has been a brilliant run this last four years.

It's strange to me seeing how some don't see the bargain. Will compare prices but never mention the crate, weather you like it, hate it, wouldn't buy it. Not the point, it's value needs to be included. Valued at $6k(from dodge) . Comparing demon and hellcat in pricing both automatics
Cheapest no options
WB HC $76 DEMON $86 -$6k in tools/ stuff. $4k difference in value.
"Fully loaded"
WB HC $82k DEMON $97K -$6k in crate $9k difference. But we know sunroof was overpriced on purpose and you can't get full graphics on hellcat
So without sunroof and no graphics. A full leather interior with sound. It's a $6k grand difference between a hellcat and demon. That's not even including ther rest, obviously you can add the buffed up parts, engine, power cooler and so on and so on. Like you I believe, Can't wait to hear this special car pricing and see the "bargain" it will be compared to demon, Seeing how much a "bargain" a wb is already.....

Stone nailed it. It has priced itself out of where i feel comfortable paying for a car. Any car. Yep i would love one. Nope im not willing to pay over 100k for any car. Thats where the resistance comes from. Even a Demon. The bargain is obvious, but for me the bargain is in the options that arent really for me. To me the crate is something id never use, aside from the ecu its just tools that i already have. Id never use the skinnies either. Cool but not something that i personally need. I dont ever track my cars. A lot of people with Demons mistake that for jealousy or negativity. Its neither in my case. Im seeing lots of “I have a Demon and youre jealous” comments. Yes i would love one of course. But if a loaded SE which is more suited to me is coming down the line for 15-25k less than a loaded Demon then ill take one of those. I already cant use the 707 i have now lol. I wanted a Demon and couldve had plenty at msrp but the 86k wouldve bought me a stripped down one. Just cant do that. I want it loaded up. Had to let the sensible side win this time lol. Wasnt easy. The same money or less will for sure buy me a loaded to the gills SE. Wont be a Demon and im ok with that.
Thats where the resistance comes from in my case. Its not always jealousy.

Not about jealousy..... You will not be at $15-$25k savings for an SE. You are as of now for a WB HC optioned out, with demon as close as possible to it at $13k savings(and that's because you want a sunroof) and $8k if you don't want sunroof. My guess this SE will be a minimum of $4k depending on what all is special about it. Savings at its very highest is $13k if they decide to not charge for SE package(not realistic). And if you don't want a roof savings are $8k. Now from those totals deduct what the package will cost.....

(Numbers are rough, just quick bad math, but using dodge building site)

No! Any Demon is not better then no Demon. I want my color my options. I don't want 4 seats and a sunroof and sound system. I want it the way I want if I am spending my money.
