The hood, roof and trunk are definitely painted. Dodge will have logistics issues for sure, my guess they will have 700 plus to paint.

I have a2019 T/A with the graphic package and the hood is painted the roof and deck lid are vinyl wrap, so i am sure the demon is going to be the same way.

Better not be vinyl wrap at $3,695 it’s no Black Ghost 😂
It clearly states painted can’t imagine anything less especially on this car.

Yee Haw - Just got text from the dealer - my VIN Match 170 is in Paint this morning.
And I guess I can also let it out that I got very lucky and my 170 is one of the Demon 170 Jailbreaks. Now it will go to Penske for repaint before going to the dealer for delivery to me.

Sublime will be a top 5 color, wasn’t available since 2019. When it comes to D170s high impact colors will be 🔥 IMO. Lots of great color choices no better way to separate a 23 from a 18 then Sublime as it wasn’t available the first time. A jailbreak D170 would be the ultimate in the right color.

"Interesting phone call this morning. SRT concierge called to inform me that they overshot on the production of the carbon fiber wheels for our cars. They are not gonna be able to make the amount they were hoping for. I was given an option to remove the carbon wheels on my build list and my car will get built asap or keep the carbon fiber wheel option on my build but I won't get delivery of my Demon 170 until early 2024

I was assured my 170 will get built in 2023 before the deadline. No reason to drop over $100k on a car that is not specd the way I want it so I'm just gonna wait till 2024"

Im a bird in hand kinda person. It’s been stated the Carbon Wheels will be made available to every D170 owner who wanted them In 2024. Your VIN matched so you’ll get priority likely just fine. Nice to have Carbon Wheels on build sheet and understand your view of wanting as ordered.

Dodge if you’re reading this and I need to make any changes at this point BUILD IT! 😝

Do you think there’s any chance I could get my color changed if I called the SRT concierge? Still in D status with a Vin# but having a change of heart on the color I chose?

I’d be afraid to ask for any changes. If I was asked to make changes to get car built I’d do whatever I had to within reason.

For sure, but that doesn’t mean that everybody that has a VIN number will get thier car built.

I was under impression all Demons have VINs. Even then builds are at random, my bet says those cars going to upfitter will start sooner to prevent bottlenecks assuming all cars get built.

The D170 jailbreaks builds will likely get knocked out quick IMO. As 20-30 custom colors disassembly / assembly wont happen overnight.

I’m pretty sure the green and orange cars are NOT D170 cars. They are cars that get rebadged for the simulation games. Heres a pic of my daughter driving the Sublime car. I spoke to Radford guy, he mentioned they can’t wait to get their hands on a D170.

Time is something you can’t get back. So as long as Dodge is building ANYTHING that time was allocated/scheduled then in theory more capacity will be available later for D170. This assumes they don’t have supply issues across the board.

Trust me when I say careers, egos, breach of contract by suppliers, threats of monetary loss, future work pulled and the list goes on, way too much work has gone into this for failure. Whether you’re a Tim K fan or not I truly believe he’s going to get this done or at least every sold order filled. I have to stay positive I’m #1985 paid ADM, no VIN match small dealer I know I’m a late build.

The wigs are part of the problem because they all went along with this 💩 CAFE plan, they didn’t push back enough. After all when politicians making policy have zero manufacturing or business experience even Stevie Wonder can see US doesn‘t have an infrastructure plan. I blame everyone involved with policy creation as they sat at the tables amongst lobbyists in DC. Rough times ahead I’m afraid, not anti EV but I don‘t want nor need direction to buy a vehicle. I think many of these cars will be avoided like Bud Light and the Unions know it.

Remember every fast food restaurant had to have multiple windows it was the effective efficient way to process orders, these franchises copied one another in fear they were out smarted or hadn’t had things figured out 😂 Well the US is doing this as they watch these European countries lead this EV agenda. What I see is a lot of empty drive thru windows (EVs) and wasted space in our future.

Hybrids are the only thing that makes sense no charging stations required, but they aren’t efficient enough for the green crowd because we are still oil dependent. I live in an area with 120k population and less than 12 public charging stations.

The D170 will always be special for many reasons. I hope they build them all….ICE may become expensive but we won’t eliminate it anytime soon.

That is definitely Jay Leno’s car. Next time you get to ask a live question you can ask him why he opted for cloth. 😂

PS He may be getting a Jailbreak 170 too...Guess that one is still a bit of a mystery/up in the air.

Jay has tons of money and getting older, I’m thinking LA is hot most of the time, cloth is lighter for a race car and nostalgic. I didn’t think twice about his build I’d drive that car NO PROBLEM. Likely VIN matched his B5 OG .

Seems like a fair amount of Satin Black cars getting built or the order rate was really high this time around. Possibly they get scheduled earlier to give up fitter time to paint 🤷‍♂️

Does anyone know if all D170 orders been assigned a VIN? Outside of VIN match I haven’t seen a number greater than 2200.

I ordered mine on 3/28 with a low DD # and still do not have a vin. Supposedly I should have it next week, supposedly.

I have buddy whom placed deposit on car that dealer ordered for inventory at deadline. I’m not sure if it then moves to sold order in Dodge system or car gets built towards end. He had to accept car as configured last I knew no VIN. Thats why I asked if all VIN‘s were established, based upon what Dodge said earlier, I was expecting this to be a higher VIN.

I think every dealer will get a car built worst case, hard to say this dealer got 5 you didn’t get any etc. I know that the dealers with many allocations are because of volume however Dodge needs every dealer pushing new products. The markets effect volume sales but the minimum EV equipment per dealer is real money, gotta reward every dealer ADMs will help ease this cost.

Maybe a short term trend but 44 of 56 recent builds had Satin ( 31 Full 13 Hood) I’m wondering if they are getting up-fitter a bunch to paint OR satin option is that popular at 2/3 of cars built have full/partial satin.
