Waits a minute, tries to put it in park, jiggles the wheel normal stuff and pushes the button again and finally starts. Tells me its happened a couple three times in the past and nothing out of the ordinary, any help suggestions?? She does have 37k miles on it and pretty sure its out of waaranty just now, hope its not serious

well it happened again this morning, it would crank for all of the 10 seconds and then quit. swapped fob batteries and fobs same result. ended giving it a pump of the gas pedal and it finally caught and turned over. we are right at 41k miles and pretty sure the warranty is no longer covering us, it almost feels like we bought a lemon with as many problems as we have had. i own 2 dodge trucks with 200k+ plus miles on them and they have been less of a headache. the wife actually said she would consider trading the DSRT in for a Ford?!?!?!

Mark, we have nothing but trouble with our dealership. We take it in and comes back with the same problems. Its such a hassle for them to take care of our vehicles when we take them in. They always, "take down our info" to call us back and never do. I have ordered parts through them and they dont call when the parts come in. Wish we could find a dealership that puts as much effort in helping with our Dodges when we need a fix as they do when they are selling them to us???

UPDATE

So couple weeks days before my dealership appointment decided to give everything a look over, started retracing everything power-wise that would start the Durango, found the positive side post holding the power cable under the hood was all of 3 turns from coming off. retorqued the nut, and so far never had another no start, 10- second crank then off, issue again. took it in for the dealership and they of course didn't find anything and replaced my 2 week old FOB batteries and charged me $160 for troubleshooting and batteries, get the Durango back home and the "new battery" FOB is unresponsive i get the whole "use the key fob to push the start button"and anytime some one exits the vehicle with the keys sitting in the center console (directly under the radio) the displays says the keys have left the vehicle?? so both my dealerships are pretty decent at not finding the problem and im stuck with bring it back in when it happens again so there's that...…. i feel we should have waited til later models to see if the "bugs" work themselves out. First it was the fog light going out 1k miles in, then the right rear running/brake LED light losing the entire harness connected to it and not turning on, then the intermittent radio not turning on, to the key fob leaving everytime the door closes, and the phone not synching to the radio whenever it feels like. i feel like i bought a lemon and have to keep telling the wife to have faith its worth having an SRT Durango, someone tell me these electrical issues are all coincidences??!!??

While annoying your issues do not really describe a lemon In the sense that the term lemon normally does. From what ive read here you‘ve had annoying problems, most of which were fixed, albeit one by yourself because a crappy service dept. couldnt find a loose cable. Normally a lemon is something that repeatedly occurs and has been repaired multiple times while ultimately not being fixed in the end.
Even the lemon law in most states doesnt kick in unless the vehicle has been in the shop under warranty for the same issue three or more times and is still unresolved. People love to throw the word lemon around without it really fitting the situation.
I personally have seen endless situations where the problem is crappy service techs who are clueless. When they cant figure it out the natural reaction is to throw the lemon word around.
Everything you’ve described shouldve been fixed fairly easily the first time around. You would have been annoyed but it would be fixed and you wouldnt think much more about it.
Find yourself a quality shop or dealer and save yourself all of this gloom and doom. It really can make or break your whole experience. You’ve actually had a lemon dealer imo.

7 dealership trips minimum in first 2 years of ownership should count for something. Even though the fix has been labled something different every time as to not show an ongoing electrical/electronic problem, that seems like a problem if not a lemon. I had a ford expedition that spent less time at the mechanic than the Durango has. I dont know about everyone elses service options down there but up here i have 2 in my immediate area and the next closes is 5-6 hours away so i envy you guys but my shops are very limited and i have visited both service departments

OK so it is very well known that when you change the battery you arent supposed to touch it much if at all on the contact sides. If the dealer service guy had grimy hands and threw in a new battery, that could be the issue. You are describing what is typically a fob with a dying battery or one with a connection that comes and goes. Since it is supposed to be new I would remove it and clean it and reinstall with clean hands. A dab of dielectric grease will help too. Takes about a minute and you never know. Free to try and nothing to lose.

Found this post after searching. Packed Durango yesterday to leave for a trip out of state, went in side a bit, came out to leave, pushed start button and a slight click and no start. The display in the dash said it wasn't in park, I checked the shifter, it was and it doesn't budge. Repeatedly hit start button and vehicle will not cycle back to ACC or Off. Dash display then started rolling through every comment known to man. No Stability Control available, No Adaptive cruise available, autopark in use, no Parksense available, etc.

Lights, windows, work, all dash lights on. Went to get stuff out of hatch, it won't open. I had to get on the road so I switch stuff to the jeep SRT and have a dead Durango sitting at home with wife, kids and mother in law (they have her car).

Clearly this could not be a dead battery? I can't imagine that would set off so many errors or the inability to put it back into ACC or Off. We have been having intermittent times of turning on vehicle and there is no display on head unit for any setting to include back up camera. It's still under warranty.
