Mine sounds the same. No clue what it is.. Dealer has checked twice.. No leak. Checked in the winter and also found nothing. Anyone else?

 

That's interesting to hear. I wondered if it wasn't some kind of emission deal where it is doing something to try and heat up the catalytic converters. I thought about taking it in to have it checked but since it quiets on its own I figured it was either supposed to do it or after it heats up whatever gasket exists there expands enough to seal off the tiny leak. Anyway it's always good to hear the experiences of others!

Is it just louder, or a genuine exhaust leak? Active exhaust valve is wide open during cold start, then slowly closes down after a minute and quiets the exhaust tone down.

 

It's not the cold start and loudness from the active exhaust. Mine is heard from the front of the drivers door which lead me to believe it was a manifold leak. Not sure but it sounds like OP's is the same.

 

What year are your cats? I'm curious if the newer models are experiencing the same sound.

 

Had the same issue with mine. While I was under it this past weekend to change the drive shaft, I saw where it had been leaking where the mid pipes attach to the cat pipes. I cleaned up the connection and tightened it up good. So far it appears to be fixed.

My '16 does the exact same thing only on cold start up I only has 6100 miles but it does not show any sign of a leak ....

Same with my 2018. Took it to the dealer, they replaced a clamp. Said they put a beefier one on? They told me this one was good to go, wouldn't happened again.Sound was gone.... for AWHILE, it's back.

 

Well that sucks...

 

Same here, but the sound is gone after about 15 seconds...minimal when it starts but it's definitely there.
